Necropolis vs Act8 next and HFF Rankups?

I have Aegon R3 max sig. I also have over 2k units now. I have done 8.1 and was going to continue. Should I just amass more units and revives and try necropolis 1st?

I will soon have rankups from the higher faster further event. Should I take Aegon to rank 5? I had planned on doing Cosmic GR.

Lastly when I get the 7* 1-2 gem from that, what is best choice? I use BlackCat most in battlegrounds offense. Venom is awesome too. IMIW and Terrax are my best defenders.

For initial run r4 ascended aegon enough. If you plan on exploration r5 him from the gem. Actually try to do incursions as well as this event, which gives you two r5 gems so you can rank up both cgr and aegon.

Use the r2 gem on venom or black cat whoever you like the most.

Thanks. Unfortunately 2 rooms is all I could get. I tried about 20x to ramp up Aegon but always die. Which also leads me to believe I should do like 2x the amount of units on hand for necroplolis if I try it
