Tune Up Patriot for Rebalancing

Bro is literallly ONLY a Photon counter… he really does nothing else. His reversal mechanic is clunky and defenders will literally wait out the reversal timer most of the time. He’s called a ‘Damage Over Time’ attacker but his ruptures are super weak & nowhere near his main source of damage. I remember a time when Champions had more usefulness than countering 1 OP champion that was recently brought into the game. His animations are amazing though… I pulled him from my titan & he was the champ I was looking forward to pulling the most, I pulled him… and wanna rank 3 him but he only has 1 use, and it’s all in his awakening ability, so when unduped, he has possibly zero utility and reason to use him. His Reversal Heavy attack shouldn’t have a timer so that the defender can’t wait it out every time. Give him more utility than just being used for Photon. I wanna use my new champion… give me a reason too pls. Gahdamn. Great job with his animations though, his SP3 is especially bada55.

They didn't buffed infamous ironman did they? So patriot is unlikely to get a buff as well

They didn’t buff IDoom because not only was he a Bishop counter, he was a Kitty counter as well and had power control, so they thought he was fine

I think he should have something similar to Beta Ray Bill’s infuriate, would make his reversal more reliable

he probably won't get buffed

I got him from a titan & have him at R1

I have played with him for quite some time and can say that he doesn't need damage buff

he has pretty good and consistent damage

but I do agree he needs more utility than just being a photon counter ( atleast some AAR or evade/unstoppable counters )

DLL hinted in his spotlight that there probably will be some nodes/content where he will benifit as he currently is but we will have to wait and watch

Also in the spotlight DLL admitted the AI waiting out the heavy hold with champs like him and Mr. Negetive, Cassie, etc. MSD video also showed the passive AI issue sometimes

DLL's suggestion was to block 1 hit then immediately heavy that way the 2nd hit will be in the heavy hold resulting in reversal

I think it will only be fixed with other AI issues ( only Kabam devs know when that will be )

With stuff like ai issues it's unlikely individual champs will get any kind of infuriate since the end goal is to fix the ai issues that would require that in the first place

@EdisonLaw That’s a good idea man. Idk why they didn’t include an infuriate. Even if it only lasts like 1 second. He needs more reason to use him than just for Photon.

Pulled Patriot but can’t even use the 1 bit of utility he was made for… pulling unawakened champs are useless nowadays. Literally can’t rank him due to it being a waste of precious resources… sh*ts frustrating.

Nah he's fine as it is, forgettable and midder.
What was point of his random release? Time should've been invested into SupMan animations and faster balancing of new OP defenders.

His reversal was intended to be a simple introduction to a new mechanic that would allow people to get used to it before it was added on defenders that are harder to play around

The deep dive says his heavy has a longer duration, but I swear I've seen heavies much longer than his, Tigra's for example

Fair point. But the problem for me is his entire damage kit relies on that reversal to get the full extent of his damage and it gets countered that easily? I mean i though it would at least count as a sort of heavy attack. then the evade isnt that much a problem but autoblock? I just did a thor ragnarok fight and built my charges. at first as soon as i held heavy thor would go passive. happened 3-4 times in the match and after i finally landed it he auto blocked it.....his entire rotaion gets ruined. Thats the problem and thor doesnt even auto block that much. Plus, i just got valiant and have opened only 3 titan crystals so far nova, silver sable, patriot..... Both the new champs have there own set of problems. I've only succesfully used him 1 time in WS fight. I might need to test him out more but so far i aint feeling him too much
