Kabam, why can’t we reply to the balancing posts directly?

Instead of creating a new thread to talk about champion balancing, why are we not allowed to reply to those balance update threads directly? Wouldn’t that make discussions a lot easier?

No way. They’ve never done that sort of thing. The livestreams are usually just to give us info on what’s coming up, not damage control or explanations on what’s already happening.

Honestly I don’t envy Dork. He’s gonna have to go up there tomorrow and endure the onslaught of people complaining about Serpent’s (lack of) balancing even though he has no part in that. Chat’s probably gonna be full of vitriol and he’s just gonna have to ignore it all and pretend nothing’s happening because he has a job to do which is presenting new information, not addressing the balancing team’s decisions.

No way. They’ve never done that sort of thing. The livestreams are usually just to give us info on what’s coming up, not damage control or explanations on what’s already happening.

I’m sure Dork and the rest of the team are, it’s kinda part of the job and the chat isn’t really well behaved on a good day either. Doesn’t change the fact that it sucks to deal with and tomorrow’s chat may very well be the worst it’s ever been on a livestream. I just hope that people will be smart and realize he’s not really the guy to yell at about this, even if that’s a pipe dream.

In that case, can we get a response to one of the many outraged posts on the lack of serpent nerf?

I love serpent, have him R3 but this is a bit of a joke and more than anything shows the players that all the rebalance program is for is attacker nerfs... pretty sure the ONLY rebalance we've seen make a difference was Sandman go from a formidable attacker to a dudd and yet all these emensely over powered defenders are being left to wreak Havoc? Just sounds like there's a motive behind these decisions, and it's not to benefit the players

This whole "Player benefit vs. Kabam benefit" narrative is a fallacy. There is no such thing as a Player benefit conspiracy. Too often that's confused with want, and I can assure you. Want doesn't always equate to long-term benefit.
Question. If they change their objectives because people want it, what does that open them up to long-term?

That's not all they have done, they have also turned Shuri and Attuma who were mid champions into really loved champs by the community. Same with Midiator turned Gladiator. Though at the same time they did make some questionable decisions, such as this

They nerfed absorbing man as a defender, they also buffed shuri, attuma, mantis, gladiator, shocker, and in that time have us buffs like red guardian, like cage, mr sinister and superior iron man. Stop pretending like they aren't buffing champions

Shuri was already good, they made her rotation more sustainable, attuma isn't an offensive champ so don't see any difference, gladiator was given a better ramp none of these are major or have really affected anyone.

They're straight up refusing to do any real changes in the rebalances, KT himself said almost every champs released in 2024 needs an offensive buff and yet zilch Al the champs who need tuning down for defence haven't been touched and Kabam Miike himself said the rebalance program was introduced to prevent champs like Herc & Kitty being left as is and yet Serpent is exactly where they wanted him? It's a joke 😂

What's healthy for the game is listening to the player base, almost every content creator and high end player is saying serpent is over powered and if Kabam don't listen more people will stop playing

Shuris buff pushed her into being a top 5 tech, attuma is absolutely an offensive champion thanks to his buff. You can't possibly say that gladiators buff didn't have an impact, he went from being barely useable to being one of the best cosmic attackers in bgs and all round bonkers.

Kt1 saying champs need an offense bump means literally nothing. Ignoring the fact that he's usually overly negative about everything in the game, he's not on the design team and doesn't know how they were designed to function. It's very easy to say they need more damage but most of the champs he's saying that about don't even need it.

Except they have been nerfing defenders that need it. Bullseye got a defensive nerf however slight and also we've had multiple counters to him since he released. Serpent is a rough defender and probably overturned in battlegrounds, but he's not on the level of hercules and kitty who can literally steamroll content

Sacrificing design goals to what people want all the time means the game dies either way. That's not healthy for the game.
They listen to Players, but that doesn't mean complying with exactly what people want all the time. Sometimes things are introduced that we just have to grow into.
The current balance program has never been used to make major changes to Champs. Minor tuning has always been what they've done with their checks and balances.
Miike isn't here to defend himself so I don't have anything to say about the Herc comment. I can say for certain he wanted Herc nerfed, and spoke on that many times.
No one said they're not listening, but that doesn't always mean they do whatever we want. Ultimately it's their call. If having someone like Serpent is the direction they want to go, then that's the final say.

*Not that I'm saying people should stop expressing themselves. For the record, I'm not. Nor do I have any say as to whether or not they will revisit their decision. I'm simply pointing out that it's not an absolute injustice for people to have something to get used to that seems too much at first.
