Is Kabam in a death spiral ?

It just seems weird how desperately they are pushing new parts of the game that no one really cares about . Add in the new designs to make it look refresh , the increasing number of bugs and it just seems like the typical death spiral caused by investors trying to squeeze companies all they are worth

New parts of the game are always amazing. Besides, they said they slow down with 7* ranks, which I think is great. Besides that, Keep the content rolling!

What parts do no one care about? And bugs well they will always occur when u push a lot of data at once which they have this month since all the new events the new ui stuff but doesnt mean is a spiral into death

New UI of shop is just plain garbage, whole community gave feedback that it's horrendous.

They have already stated that there are more players active now than the same time last year. So the opposite of a death spiral.

Also, 10th anniversary is coming up. Ofc they want to push more rewards and content to celebrate that

The indicator of a love service game dying is player base dwindling/leaving and game getting stale with no new content. Neither of them is the case with MCOC. Bugs happen, we’re going through a time with lots of them but that stuff comes and goes

- new design was there just lauch for some then they removed it(I had it so nothing new )

If u launch or release 100 features & u get 5-10 bugs that's a great thing % wise.

Do you not know how many UI updates there's been since the game started? I'll never understand how people make the claim the game is dying year after year. It's been dying because of lack of content, it's been dying because forum mods left, it was dying because Netmarble purchased them, it was dying because MROC shut down, it was dying because of layoffs. Give me a break.

They aren't in a death spiral, But is definitely working in a tight situation. The new contents are fire, but We are getting a lot of bugs these days. Also the lack of communication is a major issue. If this situation continues for a long time, then it may start the downfall of this game.

But atm, the game is far from dying.

1. Making things up because someone at Kabam hurt your feelings and you've become a toxic waste of space.

That’s generally how the death spiral starts . Kabam has been pushing pay for play way harder than ever before , force fed us those relics with the desperate desire to squeeze out more money , the constant cosmetic change gets rather then maintaining the game better and the constant bugs seem to indicate that they are probably trying to downsize the staff as well . Of course it’s still far from dying , death spirals can take years but it just this weird feeling that things are steadily getting worse and worse

Not that it’s a big deal . After all there would be some new version of the game even after this fails same way MCOC was just a new version of the Facebook game

So what content is pay to play where its restricted without spending on something as everything thats gated can be achieved by just playing pay to play would be them gate locking something to a rank that isnt achievable without spending which nothing in this game is sure theres title requirements but u can get all that just by playing.

I don't think pay for play is pushed harder, instead they give away good stuff for free actually. Last 4-5 years of july deals and banquet are highly underwhelming.

And nowadays whenever kabam introduce big sweep deals, they often include something for ftp players and arena grinders. Remember the deadpool poolies event in april. They literally gave away 2 t4a for free.

They nerfed revive farm, but which rewarding content actually needs farming. Pre nerf act 6 was unfair, wow abs man is unfair but they learnt from it. The high rewarding contents (seasonal challenges, necro, story quests) are fun and easy (done itemless with decent skill/practice).

I have 8 7*r3s as ftp. With my roster, If I dedicate 2 hours daily in bgs, I can easily reach mysterium. And I'm completely ftp. This is definitely huge.

Even the high tier bg and aw rewards (usually catered for pay to play players) aren't insane or something. The game don't even have ads. It is not p2w.

The bugs are definitely getting out of hand nowadays. But with slight tweaks and better communication, the game can definitely revert back to how it was used to be. Things didn't go out of hands as of now.

What content is pay to play? Don't use the relics. Or don't invest in them. They are completely optional.

You can tell the game is obviously far from dying, but that does not mean things are going well either. These last several months have been some of the worst all around.

Many node even in EQ require relics to gain power, is it optional? Or are you gonna say oh yeah it’s optional because you don’t need to play this game anw lol

I was never a fan of relics from the beginning. I still don't care much for them. However, Kabam has yet to require relics in any content. There's plenty of ways where relics gain you a special benefit, like extending fights in Necro, but they still aren't required there. The nodes you're talking about are the harshest thing involving relics, yet lacking a relic still does not prevent you from doing the fight.

It sounds like you're disenfranchised and trying to push that onto the game itself. Maybe try taking a break, and if you want to return after a bit I promise you it'll still be here for many more years. The new UIs, while not everyone's favorite, are certainly indicators that the game is still alive. If it were on death's door, they wouldn't have the resources to spend all that time on something that's purely cosmetic.

I disagree, relics are required for the Cerastes fight unless you want to throw 5 million revives at it.

It's technically still doable, but I stand corrected. I forgot about that fight. But at the end of the day that still doesn't mean anyone has to invest in relics. They've given enough of them away that players don't have to do anything more than just equip one for that one fight.

I mean, technically necropolis is also doable with 2* groot but it's not wise to do so.
