Kinda Both. It’s typically given every month during live stream and it’s also sometimes given during special events.

The way i see it, these codes are for those who keep up with the games community side. You have calendars that promote participation and daily login, and you have promo codes that promote participation within the community space (i.e forum, live stream and comic con maybe?)

It’s never guaranteed. But the best time to look is usually during a live stream or a special event.
