Shang chi bug

Since the newest update to the game Shang chi is not triggering his wushu strikes properly, more specifically the very first wushu strike performed. Regardless of which combo/wushu strike I start the fight with, the disarming strike (M,M) is what triggers. After the first strike triggers everything else seems to work fine as intended. I’ve had this problem in story, eq, sq, aq, and arena but haven’t played him in other modes but I’m guessing it would be the same in all content. For reference I’m on an older iPhone 11 with the newest iOS 16.6.1

Also are you starting combos with a medium attack? If you don't start with a medium attack, then you can't do other types of strikes.

I use Shang a lot and have not run into this issue. Not saying you aren't experiencing it, but it is odd that you would experience it so consistently unless it was a result of something you were doing.

Lol I just checked and my phone was saying it was updated but saw that there is a newer update but it won’t let me update due to storage. That’s my mistake. Looks like I need to delete some stuff to make room for the update

Also are you starting combos with a medium attack? If you don't start with a medium attack, then you can't do other types of strikes.

Yes I was doing a dash/swipe medium right out of the gates but the game may not be registering correctly. I do have consistent issues with the game not registering second medium swipes as well. I swipe medium and a light comes out. It’s very frustrating. I did just play a few fights and the medium animation shows but it seems to be registering as a light but if I start with a parry and then went into medium starting combos and everything worked. So it seems I was incorrect with it being a bug but more of an issues with the game registering the medium swipe

The combo tracker feature would be helpful in figuring out if it is a light or medium attack. Although in my experience, medium attacks out of the gate are too slow and will get you hit 90% of the time while light attacks are more consistent in hitting them before you get hit.

If that's how you're starting a fight, it's probably the timing of how everything establishes itself. It may just be reading the last bit of your swipe and it isn't enough to register it as more than a tap. Maybe 60 fps will help with that.

Possibly. The button indicator is showing the arrow for the swipe not the dot for the tap but it still seems that the game isn’t counting it as a medium.

Wow that’s crazy because for the last 10 years of playing the game I always start the fight with an immediate medium attack and I’ve had 98% successful attacks. Every once in a while on very rare occasions the defender will get the first hit on me and even rarer they parry me.

I can confirm, somehow when I do light medium medium, somehow it counts as the first one. Maybe I'm wrong but I thought in his kit is said medium medium

The wushu strikes all start with the first medium.
