I’ve been super cynical this year… but I think there is reason for optimism after Friday’s live stream.

1.) I really am happy that reparry is finally getting addressed. This has been an issue for years if you are a fan of double medium champs, can’t wait to test it, and even if it doesn’t work well this time at least I have evidence and an explanation of what they’ve been working on to fix it. Still not a fan of some of the messaging, but that’s not a big deal either as long as it’s being addressed.

2.) 60fps… I’m hesitantly hopeful here that this will address some of the “AI issues” we are seeing as it seems like the AI is already moving at this speed, so by giving us access to it too maybe that rebalances the playing field a bit. I’m equally skeptical though and worry that the AI will start working at 120fps though too.

In between good and mid for me. There’s been some great stuff and more otw but I’ve just been weighed down by a lot of things that kill my motivation to play. Serpent not being rebalanced was what started it, but battleground burnout (which is now even worse since I have to grind for this event lol) has been gradually building up.

The mode has become incredibly draft & rng dependent since the best strategy is always to draft ___ rpg defender who allows no room to breathe without a proper counter and hope your opponent gets trapped while simultaneously hoping you don’t. It’s just using the same counters against the same rpg defenders over and over again. There’s no more “finding a creative counter to a defender as a last minute option in round 3” because if you don’t play by the rules of their kit you just die. No bleed immune against bullseye? Guess I’ll die. Nobody who can do enough damage to serpent & manage his death immunity? Guess I’ll die. No aar immune for domino? Guess I’ll die. There’s little nuance in drafting these days since you either play but the rules of the defenders or lose. It’s a terrible system.

Sorry for the rant but it’s on topic as this is the reason I refrain from just voting for good.
