Because the bg realm event is taking its place that's why

Which kind of sucks, I would have rather had the old solo event and then the realm event stuff as a bonus. This way, odds are very good that you'll miss out on milestone rewards you would have been able to hit normally because the community doesn't keep up.

But then what would be reasonable for the realm event? They'd have to tank those rewards, then people would complain about it being a waste of an event because it doesn't offer anything worthwhile.
