It would've been lame if they were going to force open them either way, but they said he would have the crystals as long as he wanted to have them. They gave him the best incentive that he could have and he sacrificed for the community. A cool offer on Kabam's part to give his most valuable crystals such a great value, and a cool move by Brian to do this for the community at large. He didn't have to do this, but he chose to.

Just insane that people are being negative about this. BG is on good terms with the people at Kabam, having been maybe the longest lasting continuous content creator for the game. This was a fun bit between friends, and one that ultimately benefited the community. Why people are choosing to be mad boggles the mind.

It's a fun silly thing, nobody forced him, and part of me believes that Kabam didn't do this without prior warning or knowing that BG would be okay with it.
I personally love it when Kabam does stuff like this, like when they benned him as a joke when he reaced Paragon and then used a rank down ticket, stuff like that. Works as a good reminder that there are people working there who truly jsut want people to have fun
