iDoom - Give him protection from Mystics

IDoom coming out as a 7 star gives the team a chance to address a clear flaw in his kit.

This is a sorcerer supreme level character in the comics, when he was released tech champs starting getting abilities like nullify immunity but not idoom. OS, Viv, OG Iron Man, Civil Warrior, etc all get this level of protection because 🤷‍♂️ but not an actual mystic again because 🤷‍♂️.

This is on the level of silly as Ghost Rider incinerate immunity or Iceman without coldsnap immunity. Let fix it!

He clearly was meant to have based on the added nodes he gets whenever he’s a planned boss fight. Just look at the SoS Gauntlet.

So Kabam make it happen.

Sincerely a summoner who just pulled iDoom, always liked him, but hates how much of a fatal flaw he has vs a class he should be strong against.

Scarlet witch's primary power is magic and spells.
Dragon man was given life by Diablo using alchemy and magic hence mystic.

Far more than any other tech. I think it’s hilarious that he always gets this protection as a questing defender. They know it’s an exploitable flaw.

It took years of asking why a man with a flaming head wasn’t incinerate immune for them to act…but they finally made the common sense change. I think we just gotta keep asking.

Doom should have reverse control immunity, AAR immune

Dormamu should be incinerate immune, reverse control immune, and top tier attacker

OG Thor should inflict shock

Scarlet witch should have reverse control in her kit and immunity at the same time

Apoc should have mind control abilities and immunity as well

Blade should be OP against only vampire in this game ( morbius)

OG Deadpool should bleed champs and more potent regen

I-Doom is perfectly fine. Just you got him as 7 star doens't mean he need to be buffed. I have 6r5A. And I use him all the time. Glad his Armor can be taken down by nullify otherwise in endgame content with some nodes, he can be literally nightmare.

Rather than OP champs getting tune up, I would see some othe forgotten champs get some kind of buff so they can shine again. Like Morning star, SL, Rhino, Etc etc

Sorry to disappoint you but the champ is already out several years and if he was released as 7-star
means kabam over checked him again and he's the final product ready to be consumed.

He won't be changed, thats why I believe he's one of the worst pulls as well in that Titan.

You could but in end game content they frequently give him nullify immunity. So that note is irrelevant. He’s a tech champ, 99% of that kit is tied to that one buff… it should be harder to remove than it is.

Pulling him as a 7, simply reminded me why I never use the 6star. I’ll be ok if he doesn’t get this tweak, IDoom isn’t. He’s a Bishop specialist that we never actually needed

No one is slandering the champ here; just pointing out a big yet simple flaw that’s more of a quality of a life change than a massive buff to damage output or survivability or anything. I also have a R2 Idoom AND a 6* R5, AND is one of the summoners who still have him up and not Nimrod(replying to the other comment with this one); so I clearly love the champ. The change would be a great update to his kit and I don’t think anyone has a legitimately reason why he SHOULDN’T, other than “well Kabam hasn’t done this with this other champ sooo leave it alone”.
Not to offend anyone but I think that’s a weak claim to make that doesn’t really substantiate anything. Any champ at any time can receive an update; whether a quality of life fix or a bug fix. Some are faster than others, but as long as we keep asking; no harm, no foul. It’s a fair request I think we can keep making and hopefully eventually Kabam may agree and give us Idoom fans a bone that won’t break the game at all in any significant fashion

Oh yeah, I didn’t wanna sound too gnarly so sorry if I did. I 100% stand behind your thought of updating him as he definitely wouldn’t be broken and the tech class is THE most lacking class in general. Kabam‘s fear of making the tech class good against anything other than mutants is gonna keep them from buffing him though, although they barely do small buffs like that anyway. So best chance is keep asking and maybe mention it in livestreams too?

He’s armor break immune and his core kit doesn’t rely on a buff to be effective. Not sure why he’d need it game wise.

Timelines wise it could be an argued that IDoom is a later iteration and it’s a new trick he learned if you need that

Not counting on it, but going back to OS more often than not they are. Here’s the pool of new releases:

FAM and CapSam - Get Passive Armors is removed by mystics

Viv, OS, RedSkull Buff, OG IM buff - there’s a level of nullify immunity in all 4 kits

Jack, Shocker, Prowler, Arcade, Shuri - abilities are designed with 0 buff reliance. Shuri is even immune to Dex.

Ironheart, LDS and IDoom, are in the minority without protection from mystics…. But in the case of LDS and Ironheart, their core gameplay ability is tied to something else. LDS gets ferocity, Riri gets her tracking passive, giving them both something without that Armor Up.

So then IDoom really is on an island here. His utility and the bulk of his damage is tied to this armor up… that happens to be crazy easy to remove. He turns into a potato without it for all practical purposes. He’s the only tech released since 2022 that has this flaw… and he’s the only character with a backstory that makes it make sense for him to actually have it. Kabam on some level agrees with this, look at how often IDoom bosses get this protection from added nodes.

I just think it’d be more logical to have this in his kit. And it’d open up more match ups for the champ without being game breaking as well since his whole identity is tied to this buff, and it’s not like having it makes him tech Hercules.
