Apocalypse horseman not working?

I saw a necropolis vid where they entered the fight with Apocalypse and quit out. Revive him then use horseman pre fight. I tried the same but does not work. Any help would be appreciated.

You need his synergy that lets him start work 4 genetic code. Apoc can’t activate horseman until he has 4 persistent charges (genetic code).
