Do you like BG’s being the main Game Mode?

Which should be the main game mode? PvP or non-PvP?

We all know that BG’s has been the main game mode for a while now. Would you prefer non PvP content being the main game mode again? I’d never want BG’s to go away as I enjoy the mode overall… I just personally prefer non-PvP content a lot more than BG’s for many reasons and find it annoying that I have to play BG’s so much, just to keep up with the best and most consistent rewards that the game has to offer. I wish I could rely on non-PvP content again to get these meta rewards, as it’s a lot more fun in many ways. Instead of having to play tedious BG’s matches where lag, AI and input issues can interfere & cost you matches because it’s out of your control. At least in non-PvP, you can recover from these uncontrollable issues with revives 🤣 Basically, it’s just a shame that we can’t access rewards as good as what we get from BG’s… by playing a more enjoyable game mode.

I might be in the minority but i’d like to hear different opinions nevertheless.

@ahmynuts That’s why i’m asking for what your personal feelings about the mode are… how do you feel about the mode away from what it does for the game?
I’d never want BG’s to go away of course, as I still enjoy it overall, but I just wish it wasn’t the MAIN mode.

I think pve is where the best rewards are, sos, necro etc. because that’s where the majority of the R3 mats are.

BG store is the best thing about BG, not the actual and of season stuff.

Just get to uru and you’re good.

Yean. Bgs are by far my favorite game mode.

Most of my rank ups are based on who I think will help out in Bgs. I love splitting resources between attackers and defenders.

Other modes are fine but aren't stimulating in the sameway. Story mode for example. Great rewards, interesting boss fights but you do it once and its done. 9.1 came out and I ran it all in a week. I have no reason to jump in and do it again because the fights have no replay value.

As mentioned above, as long as there is enough interest in those playing BGs to keep the game running, I'll just continue getting to GC & doing a match or 2. I'd much rather do other content...

Of course we can play any game mode, but there’s a reason why certain modes have better and more meta rewards than others. BG’s is the mode that is most focused on and gives the most consistent, best progression rewards.

@Glassback thats true haha. I do get to Uru and stop, but I also do the daily BG’s event for 1200 BG tokens every two days because it adds up to a lot of BG’s tokens. Stopping at Uru is ideal for me though for sure.

"The certain" gamemode you refer to is story quests and we all know that's the primary gamemode lol, then there is necropolis with the 2nd best rewards.

I have no idea and don't wanna know what makes you feel like bgs is the main gamemode.
Most of the playerbase doesn't even plays bgs, it was just during the bg blitz when everyone rushed for 5k points.

Bgs is the main gamemode for end game valiants who do not have any other content left to do.

I disagree. The game rewards are divided amongst a number of game modes. Further to that, people play how they want. Some Alliances focus on War and AQ. Some Alliances focus on BGs. Some play everything. Some play casually. Some Players don't play in an Alliance.
I understand what you're saying with your Thread, but there is literally no such thing as a main game mode in this game. Anyone who wants to maximize progress needs to focus on as many aspects as possible.

I don’t think it is the main game mode, but I dislike how the vocal minority treat it as the main mode.

New champions just get distilled down to “are they a meta defender” or “can they handle meta defenders”, and then proclaimed to be trash if the answer is no. 2024 champion design has been extremely interesting, but BG players just casually dismiss a good majority of them based on BG timers.

And the annoying thing about meta defenders is that we have to face them outside of PVP. Who wants to waste more time trying to take out a meta defender in Arena or if you’re auto fighting lower difficulties?

If you look at the positive impacts of BGs, it’s hard to argue about it being anything but good for the game. For example, unless you played AW Korg was considered a huge L of a champion. Nova was largely considered a bust as his utility isn’t as obvious unless he’s facing meta defenders. BGs took underperforming and undervalued kits and skyrocketed their value. It also encouraged designers to be creative in how they build defensive kits.

But there have definitely been drawbacks too. There is a hyperfocus on BGs impact of rank ups, and attacker performance now. A champ like Ironheart who is a solid questing and war option is considered mid because of her speed. In a PVE world she’s pretty good despite her easily disrupted damage loop. And then we now have defensive kits so loaded that no node set removes them from the rotation. We all rush to acquire and rank them as they are awful to fight and we spam them vs our opponents. This has definitely made the mode more miserable but I don’t blame the mode for this.

I think Kabam got too aggressive in creating new problems to sell solutions too, then was too stubborn to admit they’ve been wrong. I’m not sure if they make their way into AoA but if they do I bet like Photon before them Kabam will need to nerf their kits part of their inclusion. But make no mistake, BGs being the primary mode to chase has improved defensive kits value so much that it makes sense they chased this dragon and looked to push the envelope on defensive kits. I think they just crossed the line on an acceptable RPG/Skill balance that has made this game great. If things were still PvE driven then people wouldn’t care about Bullseye, Enchsntress, Attuma, etc. and champs like Mojo never would have been given a chance to shine as an attacker either with his power mechanics and I think it’s a better game for that.

Without bgs, the game would've died. Story contents were easy after pre nerf act 6 so there's no content for endgame players. Without bgs, what we paragons and valiants gonna do? Login even 14 days for sos? Lol.

Without BG and war competitive areas, MCoC wouldn't make that much of revenue.
BG brought fresh life into players buying 6* 7* and spending so much in sales

You can deny all you want but without BG, game would be packed.

There's a reason why BG war gets constant update and AQ is forever ignored
There's a reason why raids have high ticket entry cost.
