Just gotta watch the wording of the nodes as it will tell you how you will or will not gain power. This node says that you don't gain power when striking or being struck, but Kushala (and several other champs) have means of getting power through other methods. Alternatively something like Tyranny, where only villains gain power, would completely prevent her from gaining power regardless of the source.

In one of my runs, as soon as i saw Annihilus, i read the nodes and swap in Absman to easily counter him.
