What value would you place on a 7* awakening gem right now?

We're about to find out how much Kabam values them, with the approach of the Cyber Weekend and Banquet events... How many units or how much of your respective currency would you part with to awaken your favourite champs?

I expect the value will massively depend on your progression in the game - as a mostly F2P, lower end Valiant player with a reasonable stack of units in anticipation of the Banquet... I don't think I could justify more than 5k units? Also considering the time it took me to acquire them and the fact you could spend the dough and randomly awaken the champ from a crystal tomorrow. I expect them to be priced at at least twice that amount.

They just did a 6* AG and Sig Stones for I think it was 1.5k, remember this is the first time they are releasing them, I think they will be in the 5000-7000 units region.

I would pay no more than 3000 units, only because the 7* I have other than maybe Serpent who kind of wants the dupe, don’t need it anyways, I suppose I can save it but my patience isn’t there lol.

It's not about using the Ag, it's about having the exotic resources. I'm pretty sure most whales who're gonna get him likely hoard it. Especially if it's a generic gem.

Especially since dazzler is coming so it'd be perfect seeing as she needs the high sig. Personally I'd use my gem on her

Im basing what they did for omega days which was units and very expensive amount since it was basically a grand unless u saved 36k units

The 7* pool is still relatively small in total and doesn’t get massive drops of new champs. They’re trickled in. If you open crystals fairly consistently, you’re likely to end up with the dupes anyway. There’s plenty of 7*s that I WANT to awaken, but there’s no Nick Fury/Hercules or even Kitty/Ghost type champ that I’d be desperate to awaken. I’d expect the gem to be available after spending like 20k units, but on its own, it wouldn’t be worth it. The resources along the way like t4a and possibly t7b would be the real reasons to go that high.

My guess is if we see a generic awakening gem it will be the top level reward so we're talking 18000 units maybe even 36000 units if it was like last year.

Personally though, I wouldn't place it that high. Kabam has always overvalued awakening gems in my opinion.

Yeah this is the most likely scenario for me, I think it's going to be a model they repeat for a while on spending events.

You raise a good point though, I've got plenty of champs I'd *like* to awaken but none I really feel that *need* for, not since awakening Korg and Attuma anyway.

See I think we're more likely to see a Generic at the top of the spending event, but an awakening gem crystal at the top of the banquet, it fits the whole "RNG" element of the banquet event perfectly in my eyes, and at that point I don't think I'd be mad at any of the classes showing up.

That's my thought on it too. Assuming you didn't buy the saga awakening gem from the last event, there's only a handful of champs you either cannot have awakened (Maestro) or were very difficult to awaken (Starky, chase champs, etc). Is awakening Maestro worth it for all the units? To top level battleground players probably, but to me personally no. I think there are plenty of champs that benefit from awakening, but they are almost all available in crystals at the moment.

U would probs save this generic though for deathless thanos or even if class based since normally they do class gems first and if u pull cosmic it be saved

I agree with half of that. I don’t see T7B being involved either, BUT… that’s only because I think it’s gonna be a big sell point/chase item of the banquet event. Cyber to r3 your roster and Banquet to start the r4 process. Just my guess…

I mean all the other Deathless champs have had a way to awaken them so I just assumed we would get a way to get him awakened. Maybe through new Carina challenges. It would be nice if it was just as easy to awaken him as it has been with the other deathless champs, but my guess is it'll be a huge pain.

To the point, I think this is a subjective question. How much we WOULD spend is always grossly different than how much the value is set as.

Yeah your point on BG's is completely valid, it's probably less than 1% of the player base who are the main demographic for these offers.

I don't feel like 7 star awakening gems are nearly as valuable as Kabam wishes they were. Years ago we all clawed away for a chance to awaken a 6 star champ. I don't see the current player base caring nearly as much about 7 star awakening gems.

The only champ I have now that I’d desperately like to awaken is Serpent. Once awakened, instant r3. But even then, with Spiral about to be in the Titan, his usefulness may certainly die down and my max sig 6* can suffice in my deck (granted I do love me some offensive Serpent usage). And I know the minute I’d use a generic gem on him, I’d just awaken him via a basic.

You know funnily enough I did this a year ago for my 6* with Cap's Commissary. I was TB at the time, not long since returned to the game, very few 6*'s but Void was a comfort champ, I think I spent 1,111 units at that point haha.

Serpent still demands a fair counter or a ban in BG's, he's going to be a staple for a long long time dude.

The second part is why I don't value an awakening gem at the price point they will be set at. They're an amazing item to have but I could spend £100 and it be effectively for 1 Sig stone if I spin the champ out again.
