When should I open my first 7 star?

Greetings Summoners!

I am a Cavalier player pushing for ThroneBreaker and was able to collect the 10K shards needed for 7-star from the store. This is going to be my first 7-star! I am super excited to open it, but I also want to make sure I am making the right decision. So here is my question to all you experts out there. Should I open my 7-star crystal now or wait for the basic crystal pool to update, whenever that might be? I need champions to help me with AW and AQ, as well as Story Campaign and some Battle Arena. Please let me know your opinions, thank you!

    Unless you REALLY like Prowler (like I do) you should definitely just open it now. And post what you get in this forum because now I'm invested. Good luck!

    Hi @AdhikariPlayMCOC ,

    Like many other said, you should open it now. Whatever the 7* maybe, I'm sure the champ with give you some uses at least.

    A leveled up 7* R1 is about the same power as a 6*R4, so good amount of power without using any real rank up material (apart from Gold and ISO).

    On an extra note, you really should open it between now and BEFORE the Titan crystals update in December (I think around 20 days). As some of the not so useful champs will enter the pool, including Silver Sable. 🤣

    As others said, just open it. There are better champs in basic than the ones entering basic. Waiting till it updates means the pool size will increase and gives you even less chance of getting a specific champ.

    Hey everyone, thank you for your input! I opened it like you all suggested and got Ebony Maw. I don't know how good he is, is he a defensive champ? someone I should put on AW? I tried him out and I have to say, I am not a fan.

    Yeh, he's not gonna help a lot. Great on AW defence thou.

    I got warmachine on my alt as early 7*s along with rocket (valiant now), but boy they both cooked.
    These mid tier 7*s are so dam useful for progression, it's undeniable.

    Maw have a play style. It's one of the harder champs to use at first.
    But he will bring you wins on defence in BGs at your level.

    Start with parry heavy, heavy puts a degen and steals power gain buffs from opponent. Then just simple combos.
    Build to sp2 and activate it just before hitting 20 40 60 80 100 charges. It will do some decent damage. Put a ghost rider relic on him.

    Yea it's not the best... But he can help you.
    You don't even have r4 6*s yet. So youll find yourself using him here and there.

    Just to clarify, since there is a misconception around how strong a 7r1 champion is, a 7r1 is much closer to the power level of a 6r5 than it is to a 6r4 with the exception of sunspot who is actually stronger as a 7r1 than a 6r5.

    Maw is a nice cheese champion for any fights that give non-science attackers guaranteed crits which you see a fair amount in a lot of places. He also has pretty good damage when played correctly. Not the best pull, but I'd take him over unduped antman
