Then go onto his profile and disable global chat. That gets rid of the problem.

Unfortunately quite a few people have disgusting usernames, and what most people type into global, isn't any better than their names.

Just ignore it and focus on the game.

I am absolutely not defending the use of names like that. It’s inappropriate and juvenile. But I don’t understand why anyone cares about anything going on on global chat and why anyone wouldn’t want to disable that feature on the game. It’s complete garbage.

First, it's global chat, not your entire chat. It's too involved to monitor every chat in every language for every offensive word. Just report and move on.

Second, you should disabled your son's chat so he doesn't see this.

No, in my experience kids only start really hearing weird stuff in secondary, yr 7 so age 12 or 13. Might be different with other ppl

Must be different in the US then. I'm a 4th grade (8-10 years old) teacher and I've had to have two conversations so far this year with parents and inappropriate language and computer usage.

Nowadays with easier internet access and kids being allowed to freely explore in there (irresponsible parenting), they get to know that type of stuff even before they're 10. Just one of them knowing is enough to spread to the rest of the class

Any parent who leaves global access on a child's account is negligent but I guess there is a possibility of hitting an arena team or bg match.
