CGR damnation vs Thing - is it right?

Hi guys,

Recently I had a match: cgr vs the thing.
During that fight I’ve placed Damnation on Thing to stop him going unstoppable while above 15 rock stacks. I know that Thing is immune to fate seal and Damnation also does fate seal but this doesn’t sounds right as the effect place on opponent is called damnation (unaffected by ability modification) not fate seal and in the end works slightly different as it cause damage over time and more.

What are your thoughts on the matter? Does it stick to the game mechanics?

It acts like it says a fate seal so if immune to it that part be null and void meaning buffs will still apply

specifically I believe it’s ‘take x damage over time, and while this is active opponent is also fate sealed, heal blocked, and power locked’; immunity to any of the latter three effects would still apply, but not prevent the DOT or the other effects.
