is serpent worth the sig stones?

with spiral and isophyne ignoring his sig, is he basically a dead-end sig stone investment in the higher tiers for defense?

He's still worth it. Yes, everyone will have Isophyne, but not everyone will have her duped. Spiral is still at the mercy of RNG. It's not like he hasn't already had multiple counters anyway. And where he is most frustrating (BGs and AW) are places where players are at the mercy of the draft or can just ban the counters.

He's still definitely worth sigs, arguably one of the most worthy of them.

I was debating the same thing, gave Serpent 80 generic sig stones yday to take him to sig 100.

It depends how good those mystic counters will be for other matchups. One reason why KM is declining in value on defense so much is because CGR also works for a ton of other matchups. On the other hand, iDoom who neuters the prowess mutants is extremely niche so hardly anyone ever runs him.
