Sunday Arena Change

Hi my suggestion is regarding the Sunday arena’s. I would recommend either adding units to the milestones. Or scrapping the arena’s altogether and creating new arena’s where you can use 7 star champions and acquire 7 star shards. One other potential solution for those that like to use arena’s for unit grinding. You could extend the 4 star arena 1 extra day. This allow players to arena grind on Sunday, giving them more time to complete this arena which is typically the longer of the three arena’s.

They've already said that if they touch arenas, most people won't like it. They'd redo the milestones and units (to make u get less) as the unit ratio throughout the entire month between arenas, EQ, dailies, etc, is where they want them to be.

That’s not going to happen in the foreseeable future. The arenas are the Hercules of game modes. They have more rewards than the devs are really comfortable having, and it is several times easier to get them than originally intended.

You’re asking them to buff Hercules. Be happy we have them at all, because I know of no other f2p mobile game that allows players to grind as much premium currency as MCOC arenas, with as little effort as MCOC arenas require.

Context: I was one of the players that worked with the devs on the last arena redesign, and I probably have had the most interaction with the devs in the area of the game economy.

People really don't know how good we have it with these arenas. But It would take playing a bunch of other gacha games to really get a good picture and I wouldn't wish that fate on anyone

I think with some these responses we’re losing the plot. My post was about the Sunday arena’s. Kabam can’t nerf units from said arena’s because there currently aren’t any. The two options I proposed above were either adding Sunday arena’s where you can use 7 stars.(Right now you can only use up to 6-stars) or extending the days you can play for the summoner trial, giving players/arena grinders another option on Sundays.

No the core of my suggestion comes down to “Sunday” arena’s not over all arena’s in general. Currently the Sunday arena’s only allow you to use up to 6-stars rarity. Given how prevalent 7-stars are now in the game there’s an opportunity there to integrate them in other arenas. My point about units was that another option they could look at is extending the summoner trial arena to Sunday to give arena grinders an extra day to get milestones. This option wouldn’t technically be “adding” units at all. It would just be giving players an extra day to grind for them.

Again I think your missing the point of my initial post which was referring to “Sunday” arenas. I never mentioned the arenas running from Monday-Saturday. Currently there’s a 3 star,5 star and 6 star arena on Sunday. You can’t use 7 stars at all. The meta of the game has clearly shifted to 7 stars. Shouldn’t the Sunday arena’s star to reflect that? Or, as I mentioned in my original post they could extend the time frame for the summoner trial arena so players could go for milestones on Sunday. This doesn’t address the 7 stars issue but it does give players a longer period of time to obtain units. Which is good for QOL as players would have a longer window to obtain units.

I don’t get your logic. Giving an additional’s day grace for people to grind Summoner Arena is akin to giving additional units. For example, if I am usually able to grind the first 10 milestones in first 3 days but now I have an extra day to grind 5 more milestones. This would effectively give me more units from those milestones which would otherwise not be available to me.

It’s the same amount of units you’re just not grinding it over 3 days. It’s giving players an arena to do for Sunday that is giving them milestones relevant to the current meta. Right now on Sunday’s you can get 3,4 or 5 stars shards. Those milestones are out dated even for uncollected players. I’m assuming most players don’t always have the time to do featured,basic or summoner trial in 3 days. So my “logic” is give players an extra day to grind if Kabam isn’t going to update the current Sunday arena’s.

I’m not seeing why they would have to alter all the arena’s to update the Sunday arena’s. I get coding and what not but the issue is with outdated Sunday arena’s.

Because you think the devs can just do whatever they want if you say so. In actuality they are professionals with a job to do. There's a guy whose job it is to constantly balance and adjust the game economy. But he only has so many hours in the day and lots of things to look at. Right now he's not looking at the arena. You are asking the devs to make a change that will mandate he look at the arena to validate those changes. That's his job, that's what he gets paid for, and he doesn't answer to you or me, he answers to his boss, the guy who said "balance the game economy or you're fired." Not make players happy, not incorporate player suggestions, not keep the arenas looking fresh. Balance the game economy.

I can tell you right now, the arenas are not anywhere near the normal balance parameters for the game. I'm saying that as an absolute certainty, not some wild guess. When arena suggestions cross his desk, as you said he doesn't *have to* touch anything else except what you're suggesting. But why would he ignore his job description and do anything other than his job, which is to look at the arena reward structure with a critical eye and decide whether it fits into the current MCOC 2024 economy parameters, since, you know, you're making him look at it?

He won't. You'll say "let's chagne things so players have more time to earn units by extending things into Sunday" and he'll say "give them more time, you say? Well let's see how that will affect how much units the players will be getting based on the current data." And then he'll start looking at how much units players get now. And that will make him wonder where all those units come from. And that will cause him to analyze how much time it actually takes, on average, to earn all those units. And then he might stop and consider, before allowing players more time to earn units, is it already too easy to earn them now.

Unless he's completely brain dead, that's where this leads. It is what I would do.

So this is the problem is this not a discussion board to make suggestions? If something is not brought up as a suggestion at what point will Kabam know that there’s a potential issue or room for improvement? Rather than jumping down my throat for bringing up an issue that other players have voiced. I never said the Devs can do what ever they want. I’m bringing up a suggestion to be looked at. If you disagree with my synopsis or have a better idea for them to go about it then cool let’s hear it. Otherwise nothing you just said was constructive it comes across your mansplaining or womansplaining I’m not going to assume you gender, what the Devs job is. Here’s the problem I’m not a Dev and neither are you. So maybe let them speak for what they can and can’t do. Because respectfully when it comes to my suggestion I’m not speaking to you directly. I’m bringing about a suggestion to the people that can potentially look into this further.
