4 days wait is pretty ridiculous. I wouldn't spend again until it gets resolved. It's not like you were able to claim or use any of those units. It's the weekend but might want to bump this thread tmrw morning once there's people on that may be able to help.
So am I just screwed until I level up? I truly didn’t know how any of this worked
You bought something you didn't read and understand. This is your fault.
You refunded through your app store- don't do this because app stores can't remove items purchased. So now you still have what you bought because it wasn't removed.
Kabam put contest credits on your account because you refunded incorrectly. Pay the $30 to restore your account to normal.
Ok here’s the issue I agree with everything you’re saying but I can’t repurchase that bundle. I looked up the red units thing when it got put into my account and it says I can purchase the case of credits to fix my account. It’s says the sum total of the case of credits deals is needed to cover the units. That’s a total of $70
Then you'll need to pay $70. You can't buy anything for your account until the credits are gone. It might be $70 as a penalty for incorrectly refunding the purchase.
He actually can technically buy things for his account, but he won’t actually have access to any of them- until after he’s out of the red credits. At least from what I remember, but it’s been a very long time since I’ve been in the red.
(c) I wouldn’t be too harsh with people who may not have understood just HOW LONG it might be before you would eventually be able to get these Units. For Monthly Subscriptions and such, you'd get them over the coarse of a month. And even if you see “as you progress to new Levels”, well for below 60 that comes fairly quickly. To be fair, the last half of this (65 to 70) isn’t even anything that is in the game at present.
If the offer had specifically said the “Earliest that you could possibly reach (each stated level) is …”, that would have made things much more clear, when deciding to purchase or not.
It is worth noting that anyone exercising any kind of reasonable judgment should have read the fine print on a 10k unit for $30 offer even if they normally don’t, because no reasonable person who has played this game for any length of time could possibly think that offer was a straight up units offer and no reasonable person could possibly think any significant fraction of those units could be awarded retroactively (at this point).
I say this in this context. The definition of a bannable exploit includes the notion that any reasonable player would know what they were doing was unambiguously exploitive. When someone should reasonably know that what they are doing cannot possibly be reasonable and continues to do so, that’s the threshold for them drawing temporary or permanent bans. Someone who looks at a 10k unit for $30 offer and thinks that’s reasonable stands a very good chance of being banned for exploiting a reward bug down the line using the same logic.
The “hey, I didn’t know” or “hey, if it exists it must be okay” excuses have to my knowledge never worked in those situations. So while yes, you could cut people slack for not reading this one and not understanding this one and not investigating more closely, that lack of judgment is the sort of thing Kabam has literally banned players for claiming to possess. Not just here, but every online game I’ve played has taken the position that the players have an obligation to exercise reasonable judgment when judging rewards, and if something is too good to be true they have an obligation to exercise caution.
I’ll probably just pay the “$50 fine” so I can participate in the upcoming event but I have two questions 1.Can someone tell me where I got to refund things in case I want to refund things in the future? 2. How long does it take for kabam to usually respond to support tickets?(yes I see that they’re having a struggle with response times on there website due to hunters market)
It might not be too late. Since the card has no possible way to retrieve rewards from it at the moment, Kabam support would not have to take anything back (except the card itself). I would open a support ticket with Kabam and explain your situation. Or rather, I would explain in the most simple way possible. Say you bought the card by mistake, then thought you could reverse the purchase through the App Store. Ask them what the proper way to resolve this is, and ask if you can just have the card removed instead of having contest credits applied to your account. They might be able to do something there. If they say no, DM me on the forums and I will see if there’s anything that can be done. I am not a customer support person or official representative of Kabam, but I might be able to get someone to take a look at it.
Expect it to take a few days for support to respond. If they can’t help, I can make no promises on any time line to get anyone to look, as we’re getting close to the holidays and people start going on vacation. But I can try.
Edit: this might be resolvable before the banquet, so you may be forced to buy a contest credit bucket to unlock your account before then. Open a ticket anyway, so you get it in the system.

I saw the offer and for a minute confused energy with level. I thought wait we are already level 70 what the heck lets get this.
I'm glad I realised a couple of minutes later energy is 70 and we're still at the level 60 cap. Otherwise it would've been me that got flamed here because I also had no idea about the refunding thing with 8 to 9 years experience in the contest.

Why Kabam hasn’t hired him is beyond me. He probably has a better job.
