As you can check, I started just before banquet in 2022. I truly can't even remember that first banquet, I probably had 3* champs at max and it wasn't impactful or relevant to me being too new to the game to have an opinion on the event.
2023 was my first banquet in which I participated. For a year I kept hearing about how positively legendary this event was and that I should save for it because the rewards have always been epic. I spent $450 during banquet last year and heavily considered refunding through my credit card company after the massive disappointment.
After we all voiced our displeasure, your response was, "we hear you and we will do better." How is this the end result of you hearing us? You should have listened as opposed to just hearing us. This event for 2024 somehow eclipsed last year's event for disappointment and I didn't even spend on this banquet! I did save units up from spending/grinding throughout the year and wasted 24k units, but I didn't spend a single dollar for the event and I STILL want a refund lol.
This is all to say that I'm confident when I speak for anyone who started the game within the last two years; you have created an entirely different perspective for us than what has existed for veteran players. For them, this is a disappointment because they know how good it used to be. For us new players this is the standard and there is absolutely no reason for us to ever show interest in this event moving forward.
You sorely need to rethink your approach to fixing this debacle because it's going to cost you a lot more money than you expect.

Fast forward to now and it’s legit the exact same lol
As far as checking the drop rates; I grind a decent amount of arenas and so exhausting my units for the event was the plan for the alliance rank rewards mostly, but also to do my part for the realm event.
I didn't even check the rates and dumped 23k into the "Grand" banquet event's Inferior Banquet Crystal . I guess I had too much faith in Kabam and that's my mistake. I won't be repeating it.
Can I ask when you started playing? Everyone I've talked to that has been here for ≤2 years seems to agree with me on the outlook of future banquets holding absolutely zero value or interest. This thread was intended to provide perspective for kabam from newer players such as myself. I have no concept of a good banquet event and aside from casual players who might advance at lower progressions, these events have been a joke to those of us who made valiant fairly quickly and saw the miniscule ROI on SBCs.
If you had an awesome banquet I'm happy for you, but read the room: you're an anomaly.
Its not you its me
I just don't get the part of considering a refund though. I would never walk into a casino, spend xx amount of money, and then ask for my money back because I didn't like what I got. Which is essential what the crystals are for banquet - a gamble. But at least you know the drop rates and you know exactly what your getting for the milestones.
However, they hyped the Grand Banquet event up unnecessarily just to underperform. I'm disappointed, but I do appreciate what Kabam does. They made a good game that you can either spend or grind to get near the top end accounts so it's not completely p2w as anyone who's taken down a whale in BGs knows. It's a decent balance. But this Grand banquet? It's an L. Even with the new adjustments. The overall event is great and no one denies that, in their right mind. The "grand" banquet event specifically has failed colossally. It was intended to be well received and it's either a joke or a source of negativity in the forums. You see people angry, upset, lashing out, etc. No matter how you slice it, this is indefensible. If you wanted to hype the event, you should have allocated funds for it and given out less 7* to paragon+ or none at all.
I don't think anyone at valiant was over the top excited to get the majority of these champs. A new paragon that rushed to get the 10? Most definitely. But for valiant players, this was a huge L two years running. I was paragon last year and banquet didn't give me valiant by a long shot. If they continue neglecting the people at the top, they'll only have the mega whales to thank in future banquets.
Funny enough, I probably would have dropped at least another $450 on banquet on top of the 23k units that I already committed to banquet before it started but there's nothing they could put in them that would make me pay anything towards this banquet. They already said that the only thing they could do, they won't. So it's inconceivable that they'd add anything better than the bare minimum of improving the SBC. I understand why they can't, but that's the focal point. That's the issue with this event and I don't envy their Monday morning meetings trying to scramble to save this.
In my opinion, if they simultaneously lowered the milestone requirements and once again improved them, we'd see a lot more positive feedback from the community. It would incentivize people to buy more terrible crystals just for the milestones and acknowledge that these are filler items just towards working for realm milestones. Lowering the minimum thresholds for these rewards would also immediately qualify people for rewards tiers they hadn't yet achieved, which might incentivize those who did already spend to maybe push a little more for their alliance or realm milestones. Improving them also works towards that goal. Adding new rewards tiers would help but I don't think they can afford it, tbh.
I think they messed up pretty bad trying to hype this upcoming gift as well. They didn't learn a thing. Don't hype this up because the track record has been abysmal.
Yes, some of you are upset you haven't been able to participate as much as you'd like. And, yes, some of you are upset with the rewards from your limited contribution. Neither of those things constitute your beliefs that you can speak for Veteran players, or that this has somehow been the catalyst for MCOC's demise.
Again, over 7,000,000 crystals already opened... the evidence is in the numbers, not your emotional responses, or personal feelings.
