My unpleasant Out Of This World Necropolis challenge run

And here it is, the guide that most of y'all have probably been waiting for. This one was a doozy, so strap in and get ready for the final guide for a little while! (At least until that deathless necropolis challenge)

The Squad:
6* R5 ascended sig 200 fantman with 5* goblin relic
7* R2 unduped chavez with 4* iron fist relic
6* R5 ascended sig 20 kushala with 4* switch relic
5* R5 ascended sig 200 cgr with 6* thor relic
6* R3 sig 200 spot, no relic (for chavez synergy)

The Stash:
12598 units
24 L1 revives
14 L2 revives
5 L3 revives
376 free crystals
Bunch of L4 and L5 potions

Masteries:
Same as all the previous runs, so no suicides. Had 3/5 mystic dispersion for kushala and chavez. Slapped on the hour long boosters for this one, and boy did I need them...

Journey to Sunspot

TRAP NODE ALERT: This one purely depends on your skill with reversed controls. Basically, your controls get inverted for a few seconds after the defender finishes a special. If you are good with reversed controls, this one isn't the worst. If you aren't, you're gonna REALLY have to practice before you even think about taking this challenge on.

Odin was a cakewalk with kushala. Basically, you can't deal damage unless he has 6 or more buffs, but kushala places ignition buffs so that's not a problem. Spam sp2 for the soul barb and try to keep your judgements up and you'll be good. Got an easy solo here.

Claire was problem fight #1 out of 4. She goes unblockable whenever she gets 0 or 20 of her charges, and while unblockable she will instantly ko you if you get hit. I used chavez since her purple dimension can negate claire's power gain, however you still need to be very careful in this fight. Bait sp1, do NOT get hit, and throw sp2 with the orange dimension to get bonus damage. 5 revives, 2 were absolute screw ups on my end.

Shang chi was problem fight #2, I could write an essay regarding the stuff you need to do for this one. Basic strategy is as follows:

Phase 1: Perform his strikes to give him chi charges and use heavies to reset them. If he throws a sp1 without charges you take damage. Easy enough if you are careful

Phase 2: Same as phase 1, just don't do an unreadied strike or you'll take damage.

Phase 3: The fun part. Heavies no longer reset the strikes so you gotta perform the stun strike last to reset everything instead.

I used fantman for most of this, build your 6+ armor buffs for bonus damage, use sp1 to apply disintegrations and then drop sp2s while the power detonation is active. Do keep in mind the cleanse from shang chi prevents your disintegrations so keep that in mind with your rotation. 5 revives spent here.

Squirrel girl was much easier, used fantman here again. Time your knockdowns so you don't take too many ruptures and you'll be fine. High sig fantman also helps as the bleeds can heal you. Drop big sp2s with power detonation and disintegrations and you'll get through it. 4 revives.

Silver centurion was problem fight #3, this one is basically impossible without fantman as he has the power control needed to get through the lock on. Similar strategy as squirrel girl, except you may need to throw some more sp1s for power control. Use heavy attacks to knock him back and stall out lock on when you can. 5 revives spent here.

Now for problem fight #4, spidey 2099...

Why, man. Just why is this a thing.

The gist of this fight is that he inflicts a permanent wither debuff on you that can only be temporarily removed via dexing. When you have wither, he inflicts ruptures into your block that will blow you up if you cross a power threshold. On top of that, he gets power gain every few seconds that can only be removed by blocking hits, which you ideally don't want to do. Throw a massive amount of physical and energy resistance on top of that so you're barely doing any damage, and you've got yourself a certified slogfest.

Now you've got 2 midway decent options for dealing with this:

1. Use fantman and play around all the nonsense going on in this fight on top of managing your rotation (easily the more exciting, but also more stressful strategy, this was the one I ended up doing). If you go this route, keep in mind spidey 2099 doesn't inflict ruptures on blocked special hits, so bait sp1 and block it to safely remove his power gain.

2. Use chavez, don't block so he gets loads of power gain, using heavies to reverse it via your purple dimension, and then spamming heavies in the corner (with the occassional relic and sp3 afterwards) until he hits the final enrage or you inevitably mess up because you fell asleep mid fight (the less stressful, but more boring and tedious strategy)

Pick your poison, folks. Spent 8 revives here with fantman myself and a **** ton of time, be prepared to spend more/less depending on how much patience and stress management you have.

On the bright side, sunspot was a nice finish to this, just mind the power stings and you'll be set. Took off 55% with fantman first try, then another 30% with cgr, and then I threw chavez and kushala at him to finish the job without spending more revives.

And that's it! Easily the hardest challenge yet, stash up and rank up your characters before you go in.

The Final Cost:
All my L2 and L3 revives
8 L1 revives
About 80 free crystals, got lots of potions but no revives from them
No units (somehow)
Way too many L4 and L5 potions
Couple of the big hour long attack, health and champion boosters

The Rewards:
Pulled 7* peni parker from my 7* basic. Not bad.
Used the 2-3 gem on serpent because I think he's fun on attack and a very balanced defender...
Pulled a science gem from my 7* AG crystal, probably gonna save it for now.
And of course, I dropped most of my unit stash on the mid banquet crystals, managed to get 7* dpx, medusa and sentry on top of a whole bunch of other new pulls so that was alright.

Final Thoughts and Tips:
1. MAX BOOST. I say boost every time I write something here, but for this challenge especially you'll absolutely need max boosters (the hour long ones) otherwise you're going to be slogging through the trenches.
2. BRING FANTMAN OR ELSE, he is easily the most versatile option for most of these fights as well as the only easy option for silver centurion. If you don't have him ranked, R5 and ascend him ASAP, dupe is nice for squirrel girl but not needed. If you don't have him as a 6*, may the Kabam RNG gods bless you one day.
3. Spot was filler for this run, only had him for synergy. I reckon purgatory or shathra could do some stuff here but I haven't seen much from them.
4. If you find a Golden Deadpooloid on your path, take it with fantman so he gets the bonus attack. Makes things go that much smoother.
5. Shoutout to @Metalsonicdude (if this is even his actual forum tag lol) for helping to make this one even if Spidey 2099 was complete nonsense, he meant for this to be hard but fair and I'd say for the most part he has succeeded. He's a pretty okay player himself so go check out his stuff.
6. Time to rebuild the stash for the deathless necro challenge next month, got all 4 7* champs so I'll try and smash that out asap.

And now, if y'all have read this far, time for some BONUS CONTENT! In other words, I'll be ranking all the challenges based on difficulty (5 is lowest, 1 is highest). Remember this is based on MY EXPERIENCE ONLY so if you don't agree with this that's totally fine! Revive counts for my runs are included in the brackets as well so y'all can compare and plan accordingly.

5. Masterful Mutants (5 revives). Mutant class has a bunch of really good or broken necro options (onslaught, prof x, sinister, colossus with synergies, stryfe) so if you have some of these guys ranked this one is cheap as hell. Trap node is annoying but can easily be played around and there are very few fights on the path that actually stand a chance at roadblocking you.

4. Worthy Gods (4 revives). Another cheap run with the right characters, though with the slightly smaller list of good options this one goes a bit higher on the list for me, can easily be interchanged with the mutant one though. An easy trap node with some annoying fights in certain circumstances, but nothing terrible if you come prepared.

3. New Challengers Approaching (25 revives, including 1 team). You can basically do this one with just Wong, Adam and Wiccan, however there are a lot of decent options that can put in work for this as well. Bit more annoying since you gotta do a full path instead of a half path, but nothing too noteworthy if you plan things out and play well, could've absolutely done this one cheaper myself.

2. Chosen Challengers (3 revives) . If you have a high rank guilly 2099 and a couple of good options for spidey 2099 (xbones, mole man), this one could be just as easy as the other ones and could very likely go lower than this, though it'll definitely be more expensive if you don't have these champs. Trap node isn't too bad but spidey 2099 single handedly drags this one up the list.

1. Out Of This World (27 revives) . Far and away the hardest one, an annoying trap node combined with a niche champion pool and a **** ton of potential roadblocks make this one a nightmare if you come in unprepared.

And I think that's it for now! Hopefully this series of guides was helpful for those wanting to annihilate this content, and I'll be seeing y'all real soon for the deathless necro challenge in January! The other guides I made can be found here:
