How do I increase PI?

My 7 star rank 3 Hulk only has a 25,000 PI, and I see people having rank 3s with over 40,000 PI. How do I make mine have higher?

Ok, so it does matter for a small reason. The reason is arena grinding, as a higher PI means more points. However, the way to get more points in arena is having suicides on, as it makes the fights faster. Other changes to your PI through masteries/boosts are much more minimal and won't really change the score you receive from arena grinding. Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I thought that the higher the pi the stronger they hit ? I never knew there was pretty much no difference and pi doesn’t matter unless your an arena grinder.

so players who have 30k pi titanias that hit hard on basic attacks aren’t hitting hard cus of pi ?

ex, 27k pi Titania hits for let’s say 2600, but a 29k would hit for 2750, is the difference not because of the pi ?

Higher PI = the stronger they are. It's very important. That's why their PI increases/decreases with class advantage/disadvantage, and with attack boosts.

You can awaken him and add sigs. That will increase it. Also others may have an attack boost mastery, or be using suicide masteries which also gives attack boost.

PI and higher sigs do NOT increase attack rating, which is what actually impacts how hard you hit. Only ranking and leveling champs plus masteries and, to a lesser extent, relics increase that

Higher PI = the stronger they are. It's very important. That's why their PI increases/decreases with class advantage/disadvantage, and with attack boosts.

A higher PI does not mean higher attack, though it often does. Here's an example of a 5* and 3*, where the 3* has a higher PI but a smaller attack.

Often times, people will think it means higher attack because when you see super high PI, it's because they are running suicides, which obviously does affect attack by a lot. Attack is just one factor.

@Darthbane3141 I'd also suggest changing the stat focus.

Here's my r3 Hulk with suicides, so the 40k must be max sigs and/or with boosts.

I think the confusion here might be PI sometimes reflects direct strength (or more accurately attack value) but it also shows other things. Your PI goes up when you rank up or level up a champion because you’re increasing their attack and health values. This is the same reason that boosts increase your PI. They are increasing the champion’s health and/or attack for a certain period of time, which makes the champion stronger and increases PI.

Now there are also times that PI can increase and the champion won’t actually get “stronger”. By that I mean their attack value won’t actually increase and they won’t “hit harder”. The most common ways this happens are using higher cost masteries (most likely the ones that cost the silver cores), awakening a champion, increasing their sig level, or equipping a relic. These may or may not make the champion feel like they hit harder. For example, some sig abilities increase damage (like void) but some don’t (like apocalypse).

I’m going to guess that your rank 3 hulk has a lower PI than willrun4adonut because of your mastery setup AND your hulk isn’t awakened whereas willrun4adonut’s hulk is sig 40. The awakening probably gives 2000-3000ish and the other is from masteries.

Now, your difference in masteries doesn’t inherently make your hulk worse. It’s a matter of preference. Willrun4adonut mentioned that he runs suicides (the recoil masteries on attack), which will definitely increase PI. I’m also going to guess that he’s got some combo of despair, deep wounds, assassins, willpower, or other similar masteries.

This is really long, but the point is it’s not necessarily bad that your hulk has a lower PI. There are some things (mainly masteries) that you can invest in to increase your champions’ PI’s if you would like, but they’re definitely not required.

PI is a reflection of your champion’s overall stats. When you apply boosts, those stats are boosted, which means their PI also gets boosted. For example, Suicides boost your attack rating, which is a stat, which means that your champion’s PI will increase to reflect that. Certain masteries will increase the health of your champions. That, too, will increase PI. In other words, PI reflects more than just offensive value.
