No fix to blocking during Spiral’s specials?

Just tested my Spiral again in practice mode to confirm that it still is an issue, and yes, the defender gets hit by first few hits of special but then blocks the rest. I know we’re supposed to do non combo into a special as a workaround, but it is annoying if it is not gonna be fixed with the Jan update.
I don’t see a mention of it being fixed. Will we have to go another month in the hopes of this being fixed, or could this be a hot fix?
