I want him to be great too (I’ve duped him as well) but I’m just gonna call it, there most likely going to just tweak him enough so that he’s a good choice to counter a few specific champions and nodes. It’s usually evident from the get-go when a champ is going to be that overall powerhouse that you want. Rarely do we get an America Chavez or a Sinister level buff…but hey, I’m hoping too!

Think he could do with some increased cpr when he has his precision and maybe make his resilience unable to be purified for eq nodes and the like. Maybe even throw some pursuit in there

@WednesdayLength They're very good ideas. Especially about the crit percentage. His specials should be guarenteed critical hits, the non crits do basically no damage. It will be interesting to see what they do.

His vigilance should be changed into a true focus passive and should last for 10 seconds atleast. When debuffs expire he gets his resolve debuffs so they could implement some sort of endurance effect which he could get, and it benefits his existing kit. His bloc prof increase should be against all champs, not just science ones. And more damage per resolve. He is fine otherwise.

10 sec true focus everytime you parry, and endurance as I mentioned, are enough utility imo. What else you want him to do? Daar? We already have a lot of champs doing that. So this'll make him unique without altering his kit much.

@captain_rogers You don’t have to alter his kit to give him a basic amount of utility, Like a slow on his SP1 would make all the difference. His true focus is 5 seconds but it is very good I agree. Not useful in most matchups.

Have you not seen his damage? He can take WS out in about 55 seconds or so. Mole Man does it in 45 with bleeds.

I have already said it in another thread

he needs only slight tweaks to make him awesome

1. increased power rate per resolve debuff
2. slow on sp1 or a way to counter evade/unstoppable
3. increased potency of the precision passive or just increase his base damage ( as of right now if he doesn’t crit he doesn’t do much damage 9k non crit vs 32k crit at rank 2 )

no no no he NEEDS to have atleast 35k attack without ramp, ones he’s ramped he hits for 100k at r1, his ramp is simple

all you need to do is parry once and his shield becomes fully charged and now boom he’s the best champion in the game with unavoidable damage

For me the last bit is important, i just find his rampup slow against less ideal champs. And with ideal champs it can still be pretty annoying to play against if the debuff is long. I’d prefer if he reduced the duration of non damaging debuffs so they convert to resolves quicker as well. And lastly, just more chance or possible 100% chance to crit on sp2 when you have 7 resolves.

I don't think there's necessarily justification to give him guaranteed crits. Maybe like if the precision is active it's potency is increased during specials

The only change that he really requires is to make his core mechanic (Reversal) more reliable.
Having the opponent decide not to hit you is the main problem. Either an extended heavy charge ability is needed or some type of BRB style infuriate.

Every other change is more of a wishlist or a nice to have. I think the Steadfast ability to block unblockable is the sexiest utility here as it truly differentiates Patriot from the other Skill champions. Having it be available at a lower amount of debuffs against Non-Science would be fantastic.

Okokye gets ensare for every dex. Serpent gets permanent true focus after single special. It's nothing nowadays, just a good utility.

what i do is build to 10 resolve debuffs with sp1 which places physical vulnerabilities on the opponent as well, then trigger Reversal and immediately launch sp2 cuz its gonna be unblockable, then rush to another sp2. You can incorporate striker after sp2 to immediately build back to another.

Not a stan but owner of r2 sig 40 patriot

what you do is parry MLLLL combos till 1.9 bars or 36-38 in combo meter then sp1

then do the same combos till you get 7 resolve and above 2 bars

bait a special

dash back, hold block then when they dash in block first hit then immediately heavy for reversal and throw sp2

you can go for a heavy or two in between if you want more precision passives

Considering how Serpent can have a permanent true focus after a special attack (as long as you don’t get hit or nullified), I don’t see how this is different

Keep the basic Vigilance (or True Focus) duration at five seconds, but have a means to extend it, e.g.
1 - Pause it whilst hitting the opponent
2 - increase the duration with Sig
3 - expires 10% more slowly for each Resolve
