Looking at the Shroud's respect thread to see some things that he can do

To convince people to vote for the Shroud. Shroud ftw!
He can use nerve strikes, which is what I think they meant when Kabam mentioned his expertise in martial arts. Also note that this person he knocked out is Jessica Drew. https://imgur.com/fcFdypl - Kinda like Karnak but maybe not as good, so maybe true strike. Maybe even nullify?
His cape being lined with asbestos prevented him from being burned by the human torch. https://imgur.com/a/shroud-human-torch-7ymwumE - This can translate to him being highly resistant or even immune to incinerate. I mean, if Prowler is immune to it, then why can't he, right?
Even if physically blind, he can still perceive things around him at a distance of 100 feet due to his mystical senses that he can even use to see through walls. https://imgur.com/SJZCfIF

Hitting with it, though, could be used in a special that can give any debuffs/passives they decide they'll pair with it like concussion, armor break, stagger, etc.

The dark force is said to have no mass, yet can also be made solid. It's also absolute darkness that negates light. So, will it be physical or energy damage? Who knows.
