Pausing in battlegrounds

Please for the love of God get rid of the pause button in battlegrounds.

I dont see how all these explanations may proof that you dont know before enter in a BG match, that....

There's no time in 1:30 to read some champ to fight ...lol .... You should know a lot of them to face....

If you notice some problems with AI ,record the screen against a champ or the whole match and after cut and show on YT or forums.

If unexpected things happen as a call or real life emergency, lol, you need to know that you will lose the match and just accept that, is not that terrible.

The pause can be removed only on BG.

In the 1 million other threads about pausing, it's not about being "too scared of a fight" it all about points farming for the the rewards. 99% of the time the people pausing against me have far superior decks.

I get frustrated with the pausing because I actually like to pit my skill against the other player, and try to beat the higher class champs. Sorry, but if my opponent has a higher class deck and pauses against me I take the L and forfeit the match.

Nope not mad. Just stating facts. Pausers tend to emotionally respond to being called what they are. It’s a fighting game not a timer watching game.

It’s an issue that rarely impacts the results of my matches. Especially with Nick being out of peoples decks these days.

I don't care if its too scared, lazy or whatever... If someone gets 2 rounds on you by pausing, there is no way you were winning that match, and pausing is just a lame excuse for failure.

Unfortunately I agree with the premise although I still think that it’s a flawed scoring system that should count pausing for a certain amount of time as a forfeit

I see a number of sides with this. Of course it's not fair that some people get rewarded for doing nothing, especially in semi-unavoidable damage metas like Hazard. (I know it's avoidable with the right counter.)
At the same time, it's not that easy to remove the Pause function. Not in any practical way.
Also I can see the other argument that it's up to the Opponent to do better than 15k. The problem with that is, you make that a universal minimum when you suggest that. That's counterintuitive to the design.

Yeah, most likely paused before Hyperion threw an Sp3 or something.. you can see he only fought 31 secs and let the timer run out.

I pause the game all the time for a few seconds, to put my drink down, finish writing my sentence, etc. please don’t get rid of it

One side says it’s perfectly fine, it’s legitimate, if you can’t beat a passer you should lose anyway.

The other side says it’s unsportsmanlike, it’s anticompetitive, it’s annoying, it shouldn’t be allowed, it should be removed completely.

Then there’s reality. The reality is there are certain productive reasons for the button, as well as some annoying ones, but the one annoying use can’t be stopped. All a pauser has to do is swipe up on the client to enter the app switching screen on either iOS or Android. Doing so pauses the game client identically to the pause button but without the other practical use features (like examining nodes and effects).

Kabam cannot really alter this behavior because it’s under the control of iOS or Android, and forcing the player to insta-forfeit any match paused by the operating system would be extremely annoying and almost certainly cause more complaints.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you go out of the app, then back into the game, doesn't it usually force close the app?

I know I've accidentally swiped and hit my home screen button before mid questing and if I remember correctly, it force closed the app and I had to restart, which then brought me back into my quest with 50% health.
