Rintrah Rooting

Since the update, I’m getting a lot of Rintrah rooting just beyond the hit box of the opponent. Obviously, this is less than optimal—being rooted a smidge away from being able to hit the defender, who is against the wall, renders the rooting mechanism less than useful.

Anyone else experiencing this? Thus far seen it in AW and EQ.

    Yep, same here. I was wondering about this issue but shrugged it off as nothing the other day when I saw it happen. I took mine out for a test spin just testing how the 6 vs 7 star felt in ROL, and it did this. Not only this, but a lot of times when I’m rooted, if I do happen to be not in the corner, the attacker will just hold block away from me even though I’m steadily whiffing attacks

    I recently pulled him and I thought it was hit kit. Anyways he stays rooted for 0.5 seconds after the end of opponent special so you can't really punish opponent specials. Lol.

    Appreciate the comments. After loving the 6*, I was stoked to dupe the 7*.

    Still solid, but any champ stinks when they are stuck in place and can’t touch the defender.

    This is another issue. Root stays a split second too long.

    Do you have a video of the whiffing issue? I know in the past when I used my 6* a ton, if you do a light ending attack that pushes the opponent into the wall on that hit, you'll get rooted, but they will be out of reach. I haven't had any issues with whiffing when I have them already against the wall before the end of my combo.

    Also this is how he has always worked. You end the special root early if you're able to hit the opponent while they're recovering from their special. I did ask about it

    Not only is the root sometimes away from the wall.. where you can't reach them but when the defensive root happens ( on their specials) the root last for a sec too long so you can't retaliate and you get hit making the feature a detriment in most cases.

    @Pikolu I will try to provide a video, but the light finish isn’t the problem—my standard routine is to finish with M with Rintrah and it’s happening then.

    Just finished Thanos boss off in AW and experienced both issues repeatedly. Honestly, issue (1) is perhaps the more debilitating now because getting stuck in root

    Hmmm…maybe. As a long time user of the 6*, I thought I recalled being able to punish specials. Now it’s really not possible at all.

    The Root-Too-Far-Away issue has been a periodic issue with him since his release... It only happens if you start your combo in the perfect place to trigger Root while ALSO being out of range at the end.
    I'll bring it up with the team to see if there's anything to look into there.

    As for not being able to punish specials, Rintrah stays Rooted until the end of the Special animation from his 20 MC Special Attack Root... so a longer Special (Winter Soldier's Special 1... for example) will keep him put longer than Champion's without Idle animations after their Attacks. It's possible something got a little wonky with the update though, and I'll shoot a quick poke about that as well.

    It’s recent, and it feels a little off on releasing from root (and I’ve loved and used the Rintrah kit for a good while).

    As for the “rooting just outside the hit box” issue, I haven’t been able to reproduce today, but it’s happened to me primarily with the defender against the wall. It’s almost as if he’s been pushed back just a tiny bit and unable to reach the defender.

    Very few people have more total time using the 6* version of him than I do and that literally never happened to me even once.

    I’ve been using the duped 7* for two weeks and it’s already happened at least 4 times.

    Something has changed.

    Thank you too. Once I figured out Rintrah when he was released, he became one of my favorite attackers. He was a no-brainer to R3 for me when I pulled him from the Titan, but his kit doesn’t appear to be working like it used to.

    I definitely don’t claim to have played my 6* anywhere near as much as @BeastDad but I did use him frequently. I also never encountered it with my 6*. I have had it happen 3 times in the last week since using a mystic gem to awaken my 7* last weekend. I don’t recall it happening before I had him awakened, so think it is possible it is related to his sig ability. Take that with a grain of salt though as I wasn’t using him as much prior to awakening him.
