Are you satisfied with the minor Medusa nerf?

What does everyone think of the Medusa changes in the new update? I think it simply changes the time between hits to auto block, 0.5 seconds -> 0.7 seconds, unless there is something else I am missing. Personally, as an sig 200 r3 Medusa owner, I am annoyed she isn't as good in defensive situations and now she can be punished more when slipping up on offense. Although, it really wasn't a huge change and she will remain a great champ.

Could you give an example of somewhere that this change is making a difference? I’ve got an r3 medusa that I also love, I just can’t think of any interaction off the top of my head that this actually impacts. I’m sure it exists, I just don’t know it

She was a little too trigger happy with the autoblock as a defender, so I understand the tweak, but yes, I was already hesitant to R3 her and this definitely makes me slightly more hesitant.

I haven't lined up the times but my assumption would be this change means that on defense, you are now able to get 3 hits in before she autoblocks (as opposed to 2 previously), and then when on offense, the defender is able to punish you for 3 hits before she auto blocks. It isn't a big change at all, but I did want to bring it to peoples attention. The wording in the update says they wanted to make her auto block similar to how it was before she was buffed. In all honesty that wording disappointed me a bit as she was not very good pre-buff on defense.

For what it’s worth, I’d still recommend the r3. Put a Thor relic on her, her damage is absolutely nutty. Extremely fun and safe champion to play, and with her easy access to armor break, bleed, true accuracy, and furies, plus her poison immunity, she’s bursting with utility. Kabam did a great job on her the first time, and then said “I’ll do it again!”

No problem! I guess the poll wasn't super necessary but I did want to bring this to the communities attention as she isn't as good on defense now and it is something that could easily be swept under the rug.

Yeah, sorry, don't get me wrong, I love her. It's just more about limited R3 resources, so even negligible things like this update become somewhat relevant when deciding between 5 champs for one R3 spot.

Apparently she was this was before the December update. If that's the case, fine by me. Personally not a fan of changes like this. There's a certain way I fight these champs and I don't want to have to change that when they get buffed. God forbid MODOK gets buffed and his auto block gets changed

I would disagree. No synergies, no recoils, just Medusa with a r3 5* unduped (😭) Thor relic. And WS was downed by the sp2. If he had survived, he would’ve been stunned for long enough to get multiple combos in, and been suffering from *very* potent bleeds (I do run deep wounds 5/5, so I might value that more than some others).

She hits hard, no doubt about it. That's also part of my hesitation about taking her to R3, because in the matchups that she's good for, she doesn't really need R3. R2 hits plenty hard.
I use a 6* Venom relic on her for the bleeds; I give the Thor relic to Vox for the extra buff for extra degen.

I'm under the impression that the changes made her better! 2 hits within 0.7 seconds would cause an autoblock. Unless I'm misunderstanding, this means there's a bigger window for the autoblock to trigger! (:

Yeah you’re completely right. Unless it is the other way around, I couldn’t compare the descriptions from before and after the update so I checked in game then compared to the website (assuming the website wasn’t updated but in game was). I feel extremely foolish now, thank you for pointing that out

Ok hold up, hold up, lots of incorrect conclusions happening here. First and foremost, this is NOT A NERF. At all. In any sense of the word. Please allow me to clarify.

This was the result of an issue that began when she got updated that I immediately brought up, back in October. The way her autoblock worked since she was released, is that her auto block would trigger on the second hit of any special, and of any combo. Due to some clean up they did with the ability during that update, this ended up not working as it did. It resulted in Defender’s basic combo hits that could bypass her Auto-Block, just by being slightly delayed and outside of this 0.5 second window, and also prevented her from properly Auto Blocking specials that had spaced out hits, which is a lot of specials. This was not good, I got hit many times when I shouldn’t have.

What this fix did was extend the window of time Medusa looks for second hit to Auto Block, and to pause that timer during Specials. These changes are to make her function more accurately to the way Living Strands has always worked.

This is not a nerf. This is a very good thing.
