Unable to join war

I didnt join today's war and it tells me this when i try to. I've restarted a bunch of times and it's not letting me join my bg. This is the first time this ever happens to me

No, i've been in the alliance for a long time. Not sure what caused it to happen. Also if when you join an alliance mid war you get a spectate button and not a join button
