Ares initial run by an *average? Valiant

I did the the debuff run with Howard, silk and Hulk.
I decided that this will be my last write-up ever as I can offer no valuable insight that others can't give. Everyone was a solo except Adam Warlock, whom I had to use about fifteen revives on as I thought his heavy could take off several health points, but it's too short and only does a single 2%.
For Ares, if you can NOT do his special attack, you can brute force him down with a 7r3 hulk with 24 revives to the 1 HP phase. (I didn't Dex a single special and always got KO'd). And that's all I can share.
Also, if future bosses are like this, I may actually be done playing. I just can't memorize and react fast enough with the split second to decide which action to do. However, I do think the fight is very well done and enjoyable, just not for me. And since I have to 100% everything, it may be time to walk away if the next bosses are geared like Ares.

Again, I think he is well designed, and if others enjoy him that's fine. His mechanics just aren't what I'm looking for in a fighting game.
I got a few hits in several times, but never made it the whole way. At some point it was just more efficient to screw the special and chain as much damage as possible before i got wrecked.
Anyway, I appreciate your writeups. Helps me feel like I'm not the only one who can't solo these things.
Kabam was so damn close to making a challenging but skillful bossfight, but there are just a few QOL things that made this boss feel terrible.
Love your stuff @willrun4adonut , hate to see your guides go but obviously you gotta do what you think is best for yourself. You've done a lot of great stuff for the community man.
definitely gonna move on to another game
Id just want 2 things added / removed.
Special icon to display current thrown special.
No animation increase between phases.
Learning to dex his specials was fun.
I think I spent 1k units total on ares alone. But the first 400 was me taking him to 95%
I know you didn't mind going in blind and learn from failing. It's the game we play.
It would be a way more enjoyable fight if he didn’t throw random specials
After I'd fail an input , I'd still perform the actions of the special just to get comfortable with the timing. For my second run, I am going to tell myself out loud to "dash", "dash", then "axe/dash" or "sword/parry" to help connect my brain to my thumbs.
As someone with vision issues, having to identify timers/icons adds another layer of difficulty. That's not on the game team or anything. Pausing helped immensely with identifying the acts of aggression inputs. All in all, I'm good with the design, just have to get better at the fight before I can say I am having fun doing it.
