Can I join Raids after joining a new alliance?

Am I locked to join Raids if I join a new alliance after Raids week already started? Or does a player has to miss the previous AQ rewards and join a new alliance before it starts to be able to join it?

You have to be in the alliance before raids starts if you want to participate at all in AQ that week.

really? Because for AQ it works fine if they start their first AQ day later.

My next question would be then: Do I still get the AQ rewards if I leave an alliance before it ends?

AQ is four different quests that are broken up through the week. If you join while a map is running, you can't participate in that map, but you can when the following map starts. Raids is one map all week long and once it starts you can't participate unless you were in the alliance beforehand. So while "for AQ it works fine", it actually works the exact same way for both, Raids just doesn't have break points like AQ does.

If you want to switch alliances prior to a raids week, you have to forfeit AQ rewards for a week. Rewards come after the AQ week starts, so the raid map would've started before your joined and therefore you wouldn't be able to participate. If the choice is one or the other, sacrifice AQ rewards for raids.

You can tell new alliance not to start raids until you get your rewards and join

Do that and now 29 other people aren’t gonna be able to do raids either

In the rare instance that you want to change alliances right as a raid week is about to begin and you want your AQ rewards, just sacrifice the AQ rewards to be able to do raids. You get more rewards inevitably, and the alliance that needs the help will get it.

I will say that raids week is different in the sense you can't join any AQ maps once the raid week starts. I had issues when I moved my alt where it couldn't even participate in map 6 AQ since it moved in during raid week. Maybe it would be different if the alliance has 0 raid maps running since we always do 2 raid maps + map 6.
