What is the hype around crossbones?

So I pulled a seven star crossbones and found that many YouTubers hype him up so much like trappy.
But when I take a look at his kit it only seems to be good against hero champions so it looks like hes only good against half the champs in the game.
So why is he hyped so much?

i agree with the sentiment, hes difficult to use against the AI in its current state and keep furys up because thats how he gets those big numbers... most node combinations force you to slow down your play and wait for the AI to use a special. most have a "so many of X action triggers this effect and once X amount triggers direct damage", or the unblockable and unstoppable and auto blocks so common now in the combinations that make you have to wait around them and his kit doesnt negate any of that, this put you at risk to lose those furys in a hurry and then have to build them back up... if his furys hung around longer (even with the heavy refresh and sp 1) or got his ramp from something else, he might be more useful, but only really works in niche match ups. when youre able to get him ramped though, he does hit like a train, ill give him that.

His damage is egregious and shuts down all defensive moves. The list is huge but this counts for evade thorns damage and even limbo. His damage is absolutely nuts and when duped removes debuffs and gets a bonus for it. Maybe you didn’t watch the full video or if you did check out more gameplay. I’ll die on this hill alone but I think he’d trump Kate even if she was a 7 star. Undisputed CHAD

Bro it’s literally one more fury against champs that aren’t heroes to shut them down. Hero champs= cooked with 4 furies Other= cooked with 5 furies

Besides him just being a ridiculous powerhouse, he is a top option for Hazard Shift in war.

    Crossbones isn't that good.

    Trappy is that good.

Watching Trappy use Crossbones is like watching AlisonEdits use Ronin - both are decent champs which the average player doesn't get a lot from; but they have a really high skill ceiling.

Trappy and Alison can reach that ceiling (as can some others)

If you're prepared to put in the time and effort to take get good at using Crossbones, and learn the spacing to heavy-counter your opponents, he's got literally limitless damage potential. But if you aren't going to practice (a lot), don't expect to see the same results.

I've been debating my next skill R3 & keep bouncing back/forth between Cheeilth & Xbones. As others have said, Xbones utility & damage can be top notch, but requires a lot of practice & skill. Not sure if I have have the latter, so I'm leaning back towards Chee

He’s a very strong Ability Accuracy Reduction champion, and has consistent damage on top of that; not critting is also occasionally very useful against nodes or champions that punish crits. The bonuses against heroes make him better but he’s still good baseline. He does, as mentioned, need to keep the pressure on, having to spend a lot of time baiting specials/intercepts/heavies without punching face will have his furies fall off, but that weakness is not unique to him.

Midbones. Very stressing to play. Youtubers hype everyone. Even his pause last only for 5 seconds.

Midbones- nah. He's great. Be nice if that Mango 50% fury duration synergy was in the base kit for scrubs like me

What's stressing about parry into heavy?
Sure you'll lose 1 fury but you get to pause your 6 instead,

If you try to do special punish heavy, then yeah it gets stressful but just parry heavy, that's what I do with Chadbones

    Xbones is not Noob friendly.
If you know what you are doing he can do a heck lotta things. And I'm noob.
