Hey guys, I need suggestions for tech R3. My tech class is bit weak wrt other classes. Currently I have only one R3 in tech that is red skull. Here is my 7* tech roster.
Guardian is overall a better nuke and attacker but iheart is much more versatile with more utility. Overall iheart is better but guardian is better for bgs.
She's and Classic Iron Man actually cover a lot of the same areas - reliable Armour Ups, immunities to Incinerate/Coldsnap/Frostbite, block Unblockable specials from mutants.
Iron Man is certainly a better damage dealer; if what you want is pure damage. And if your focus is Battlegrounds, that may be the deciding factor for you.
But Ironheart has so much extra utility, it's just nuts. - Counters Miss - Parry non-contact attacks - Counters nodes like Bubble Shield, Defective Defense, Kinetic Transference, Rise to Power and Stun Reflection - Immune to Reverse Controls (useful for the #ten-year challenge) - Suppression to reduce opponents Combat Power - big Power Drain on SP3 - Her Awakened Regeneration ability can be triggered on every fight on a path; unlike Classic Iron Man's once-per-quest
That is true iron heart has tons of utility but iron man in the long run does so much. I generally think he is the tankiest champ in the game. Nick136 did a showcase of him as a r4 and he takes like 2% of damage from necro Sauron. There are other videos on him with around the same result as a r3. His regen is so potent that thereโs a reason why it can only be activated once per quest. I like to think of it as a second life honestly.
Guardians a double edged sword, hes a nuke and very good attacker when he works, but thats the issue, is he rarely works in a meta since he needs to get buffs, debuffs, shock, energy damage, no crits, AAR to get his force field charges etc. I think he went like 5 metas in a row where he wasnt compatible with the nodes. I debated giving sigs to him after i finished taking prowler up, but now were getting better techs like Zola,Bastion. Plus theres shocker whos also probably better too.

I know little about ironheart, due to not having her. How does she counter bubble shield?

Once opponent has 5 or more incenerates Or ruptures, whenever ironheart blocks, opponent has reduced aar so any abilities that trigger while hitting block won't trigger, including photos miss when you parry her and onlsaught daunted.

It's all to do with her Tracking ability reducing the opponents Offensive Ability Accuracy. Take a look here, mate ๐
Tbh, I strongly recommend this video even for those who aren't into Ironheart, because a lot of this utility can be applied to a few other champions.
Proxima can inflict AAR when blocking, as can Sam Wilson. And it's an oft-overlooked bit of utility that Maestro has, if you use him to attack; as his Glancing buff means he can pull off a lot of the same tricks, at least against basic attacks. Triple immunities, and surprising utility to boot... who knew?
It's interesting seeing Shuri, previously the queen of the 7* Tech class, is getting far fewer votes than Iron Heart and Guardian.
So what happened? (Personally I've still never figured her out - don't have her as a 7 but a 6* r4a)
She is hyped because of necropolis. In bgs her damage is fine but there isn't much she counters. Also like nimrod, she relies on shock and most muties nowadays punish you for applying shock.

Thanks a lot guys for participation. As per the result of this poll and after seeing this video iron heart is the one for now.
I killed R3 bullseye solo with iron heart on stun reflection node in AW with 30% health. That fight always tough for me.

Might be because there are other techs with solid usage. Ironheart has multiple immunities which help a lot, including immunity to reverse controls. She also easily counters miss by inflicting enough debuffs..2 of them can be applied with her Repulsor Debuffs by dexing back. Additionally, she can inflict 2 debuffs: Incinerates and pre-fight Ruptures; the latter has only a few champs that are immune to it. She's a good Onslaught counter option (who is still regarded as an ahole defender), and great mutant counter, and can block their unblockable specials. I think her incinerates can also slow, reduce, or negatively affect Dust's (another ahole defender) sandstorm debuffs or whatever they're called.
Shuri, when awakened, can block unblockable specials from any class, but has only one DOT immunity, and melts against Onslaught, unfortunately. Her shocks, precisions, and crits are solid, and can do some great damage, but Ironheart has an edge with her DOT options, and when stacked, can do serious damage also. A lot of players have been seeing Ironhearts potential.

I'll just put it like this,...she got the majority of votes for a reason lol
Just a reminder...Bastion is coming to game. Don't how you feel about him, but he's supposed to be an insane Tech. Might want to hold off a bit if that's important to you.

Yes Bastion is good counter for most the annoying mutants... These days most of the new champions are great that's why I always save some resources for new champions in 7*. Currently I holding 2 2-3 gem and 2 R3 with catalyst. I did R3 this one becuz 3 T4A gonna expired in 2-3 days..
I have space for one more tech R3 but I am waiting for new Titan pool to get Zola...he is great and dual threat.
Haven't been here in four months, has Ironheart aged well? I r2 her back then but she just seemed so inconsistent with her damage at least for me
@ItsClobberinTime shes been a mvp in content like showcase or AoA with her utility. Also her sp1 was bugged to decrease damage rather than increase it so she may be good in BGs now. Lastly, shes reverse control immune so she should be a solid Jean counter

I used her to solo AOA Jabari Panther. Was nice lol

I always knew her utility was insanely good yeah, it was just the damage that was lacking but it's weird cause I just did ten fights against rol dummy and she dealt over 300k on every single rotation. Before, you would sometimes get 200k-250k which is pretty bad for a r2 7*, no idea what they changed but something definitely changed must be the sp1 thing you mentioned cause she looks actually good now.

All three handle multiple fights/nodes.
Iโd lean Iron Heart.
you have him, i am just chasing him, didn't get till now even after opening 8 incursions crystals
kabam please!
