Why do kabam star lock broken characters

This is probably a dumb question but I was talking with my buddy and he was talking about characters who'll take at least 2 years to be added to the 7 star pool and i was curious about why.
Like is it to keep 6 stars relevant through broken characters or to not diminish value of mid to good 7 stars.

Because their existence is unhealthy for the game. Claires buff immunity is absolutely busted

Just slap "if enemy gets hit, players gets goofy debuff on them which does ABSOLUTELY nothing" node and Juggs starts to cry.

Kabam just loves to deprive us of fun, simple answer. "doom, scorp, abs and all other star locked champs are too op bro, 7* in 2027 bro" like we have serpent and onslaught as 7 stars just make that make sense.

Only champs that would make sense to be locked are Kate, Herc and CGR. Like there is no 3rd 6 star that should be locked.

With this pace they will just add all the absolutely garbage champions to titan and other ways they release new 7* before the turn of those actually wanted champs. Thats a long time, there should probably be more exclusive pool crystals including champs that got star upgraded from 6*, something actually good and worthy of grinding and make it available to summoners in a way similar to what they did with deathless champs, not exactly the same but its just
alot of ways they can do it and engage the community in a more fun way.

I think it’s their way of getting people to rank good but not broken champions. Champs like Dragon Man or Jabari Panther as example (I have both at R2) wouldn’t get ranked because I would probably wait for better champs. It is probably a little about the great champs they lock but I think it’s more about the champs that never got their time to shine.

Just because a champion doesn’t yet exist as a 7*, doesn’t make them locked to 6*. Kabam is slow rolling old champions into the pool as a marketing tool. I expect most of the champs you’re thinking about will join the 7* pool eventually. I think the only ones they’ve explicitly said not to expect are Hercules (because Hercules) and BWCV (because her buff immunity mechanic is a nightmare to design around). Then, obviously we have Quake and Magik, but that horse is so dead and so beaten that I’m not gonna spend time on it.

They want to release them slowly in a way that they can earn money with them. Like they just released shehulk and iceman and there are people that spent money for them while those champions aren't great, but since they've been released in a limited way people got tempted to spend for them. At the end of the day it's always a matter of money for kabam
