I don’t love the way they removed Foggy and Karen, and I SUPER don’t love the awful CGI used in the sequence with Matt in the suit.
Other than that, I really enjoyed it. The story is compelling, Charlie Cox continues to be incredible in the role, as do the other returning cast members. And the fight scene at the end of episode 2 (not in the costume) was exactly what Daredevil should be. I’m gonna spend more time complaining about the thing I don’t like, but I wanna be clear that the show is absolutely worth the watch.
My big knock is that they took away Foggy and Karen as characters that we knew and loved and filled their spots with new characters who were just… doing the exact same thing the old ones could have done. Like, the new partner is Foggy and the investigator is Karen. The character dynamic with Cherry (the investigator) is slightly tweaked, and I get that they wanted to put a new love interest in so Karen needed a reason to rotate out of that role, but with all the time that’s passed since then (and the fact that Matt had canonically gotten with She-Hulk in that time), it just feels like this was unnecessarily slamming the door shut on those characters when they could’ve been just kinda… moved off screen for later.
Well I think they confirmed Karen will be back in season 2. Ik a major development with this show is they filmed 6/18 episodes and had both of them killed off screen but started production over from scratch, they kept some footage but shot the opening to keep the door open for karen
Most of it was solid but that one take fight at the start of the first episode was rough
Think most flaws was a result of production issues. They shot 6/18 episodes then started over from scratch, they had a lot of footage but reshot the whole first episode and lowered total amount to 9 episodes
I don't like how they are handling the character of Vanessa. She feels completely different from the Netflix show. Vanessa would never try to one up Fisk and brag about how she runs the criminal empire better than him; she is cold, smart and a character who has lot more depth than just a girlboss character. One of the reasons why Kingpin is such a menacing character in the original show is due to the fact that Vanessa stands by him, supporting all his evil deeds. That couple therapy scene was honestly so hard to sit through.

Doesn't change the fact that this is the finished product that they're putting out and that fight scene was rough

Still the people rating this show a 2/10 or says that it ruins the character are just being ridiculous. It was never gonna top Netflix but if that was an 8/10, BA is roughly a 7/10 at least so far And if anyone asks why I rate Netflix a 8/10 is because honestly season 2 is not that great after punisher arc, and having to watch defenders in between S2-S3 really sucks
