I have the skill and deck to make it to GC on day1. But not the time. So I ussually make it to GC by the first weekend of the season. Then I used to play every day, 5-10 matches, couple times a week I'd probably play 20+ matches in a day. Now, I just do 4-5 matches every 2 days to get the objectives. If those notifications for new objectives didn't pop-up, I'd probably forget about BGs for a week. That's how boring and frustrating the mode is now.
Other than "better rewards", I have no idea how to improve BGs. And I haven't heard a good one yet. And those improved rewards need to come to right way too, not just increasing current numbers. New stuff needs to be added too (like awakening gem shards). There should be a weekly solo event, progression based. It should have tokens, 7* shards, titan shards, champ and relic sig stones, AG shards.
For the little amount of effort I put in, it's worth it. I do the Solo Milestones and get Trophies up to the GC. I don't go crazy, just a few Matches here and there over the month.
Is it worth completing? Sure. Is it worth a long grind? Nope.
Bare minimum and call it a day.
We all know these BG complaints aren't about the rewards. It's about something else. It's not like anyone in this thread (me included) would be a Celestial player if the Celestial rewards were made better. And the lower tier BG rewards are still better than 90% of the other stuff in the game, including Arena. And it takes way less time.
But modes like Arena are safe: zero competition, zero stakes, and no risk of losing your pride. So Arena becomes "the best value" and BG becomes "not worth it."
Lol no, I can easily get more value out of grinding arena and 100% endgame content with the units than grinding BGs
Ok, I guess we're talking about different things. I do Arena and BG and everything else. Some people in this thread were saying BG is completely useless to do, which is different I guess than saying whether it is worth the grind. What does grinding BG even mean though? At a certain point in GC we all hit our skill and roster ceiling and grinding won't really produce any results anyway. So it's playing it while we're mostly winning matches and then stopping after it becomes counterproductive. For some people that point is Vibranium, for others it's Uru, for others Mysterium, etc.
Grinding means playing many matches a day not necessarily placing in Celestial. Right now, there's zero reason to play more than three matches every two days. Also, I think the whole GC needs a reward buff not just Celestial. The fact that all GC rewards still give a bunch of 7* shards (not a single fully formed 7* which is ridiculous in today's game economy) trophy tokens (for a store that's also outdated not just because of the amount you get for certain items but the prices themselves) and a bunch of relic shards and alloys is absolutely pathetic and I'm surprised it still hasn't been acknowledged or even hinted at. And don't even get me started on the milestone rewards because atm those are trash even for Paragon players. BGs as a whole are simply not worth it unless you're Paragon and below, you're better off like I said wasting all that time in Arena saving units for two things: new endgame content and unit deal events.

Maybe try going for Celestial I instead
The higher you go, the less worth it, it becomes for time invested. It becomes significantly harder to match and you're just sitting in the queue. If you have a bad run, then all that time invested climbing can be wiped out. The rewards don't justify that time.
The GC circuit rewards haven't been upgraded for 16 months, if you guys at kabam want battleground to become a dead piece of content, you should keep ruining your game like this. You guys are really far removed from your player base
IMO, there are too many things wrong with BGs and the game right now that makes it no longer worth the time and effort. One is the wild inputs, which I believe is the most important, since they cause erratic actions from the attacker, and often times gives the defender/AI a counter advantage. We have brought this to Kabam's attention repeatedly, yet there has been no response. Or has there and I missed it?
I personally don't like the current Unstoppable/Limber node, and others that require waiting out defender buffs, or needing the right champ to counter it. And for that, you have to hope and hope some more that RNG is on your side. To me, these don't belong in a 1:50 second fight. They're fine for AW, since it has longer timed fights, but not good for BGs.
Champs with new immunities and large healthpools are becoming more tanky on defense, which is time consuming, and can make it difficult to get a KO if you don't have "the right counter". Again, RNG is crucial here.
The level rewards have fallen behind. I can't understand why it's such a chore for Kabam to update rewards all across the game at least every 6 months to keep it fresh and interesting. I've only grinded this season to reach a personal goal. But I'm strongly considering taking the next few seasons off, because it's just not worth the headache.
