Titan Nexus - who would you choose?

Got a pretty good nexus - problem is it is my top two choices.

Which would you take? Zola or Okoye? I lean towards Zola.

I have a skill awakening gem as well as a generic, so can potentially awaken either of them.

Ok close enough that so far this isn’t helping.

My skill R3s are Chee, Black cat, Bullseye, and Hit Monkey. What does Okoye bring that those 4 don’t have?

My tech R3s are Shuri, Jack, Warlock, and Shocker.

I definitely want a good tech defender. I’ve got an R2 unduped Arcade I could take to R3, or a R1 unduped Red Skull I could rank, or an sig 60 peni I could rank. Is Zola a better tech defender than those three?

Zola is my most wanted out of the titan so I'd choose him

Starting to lean towards Okoye now. I’m a pretty mid player and using Zola properly seems to require quite a bit of skill given his rotation/flow. Part of the temptation is that she apparently gets a lot of benefit from being awakened, but is 1 and done, so I could use my Skill sigs on Crossbones. Also like her easy access to slow, straightforward play, and burst damage.

So, now leaning towards her and taking either Arcade or Red Skull up as my tech defender for now.

Would still welcome any thoughts/input.

I've had Zola as a max ascended 6 for a few weeks now.
Mostly got him for defense, but he's not that great. I've had opponents run through him using a variety of attackers, from CGR to Jugs to even some random ones.
As an attacker I haven't tried him much, but I don't think even with the perfect rotation he'll do as much damage as Okoye...

Just pulled Okoye an hour ago and am pretty damn impressed. Simple, flexible rotation, easy to stack / pause the debuffs. And shutting down evade simply by dexing a single hit is pretty awesome. I agree that she needs the awakening but I think low sig is fine (even sig 1 from what I’ve seen on YT).

As a 7* the block damage of baiting his heavies would be a lot more and juggs nukes a ton so not the best metric

I just opened a nexus and have a similar dilemma between Okoye and Zola. I also am someone who doesn't do well with strict rotations (so I am unhappy with my Spiral dupe).

Wanted to point out that Okoye has Ensnare, not Slow. But it is great that she has such an easy access to being an evade counter.

The only thing I am really tempted by Zola right now for is his Special Lock prefight and the block-Sleep mechanic, but I think for me, for someone who I'd enjoy using as opposed to using for specific utility, I am also leaning Okoye.

Thanks for the point on Ensnare vs slow - correct on that front. Still leaning okoye - will pull the trigger shortly.

I had a nexus with zola and scream I chose zola and he is pretty decent on attack for someone who is primarily supposed to be a defender

Yeah it would be about 20% increased attack rating at 7R3 vs 6R5A.
He's not bad, I just had bigger expectations, but maybe that says more about me than Zola.
I'd still prefer Okoye over him, I think Sentinel and even Shocker and Arcade and Peni during some metas are better tech defenders, or at least, have fewer specific counters.

@TotemCorruption we haven’t seen how he performs in different BG metas as many didn’t have him

let’s say we have the power shield meta then apart from kate, scream I don’t think anyone can kill the guy with 90% cowardice passive

It doesn't affect DOT specials though, other than what he's already immune to (poison and bleed).

It wasn't really a decision for me since it wasn't a nexus, but this is who I wanted and it worked out just now.
Now the question is whether I want to open my remaining Titans, including the nexus.

Congrats! I just chose her from the nexus and awakened her. Going to take her to R3 later today or tomorrow.

Nice, congrats! I was hoping to awaken her from my nexus but can't complain too much overall.
She looks awesome though, especially with the sig ability, enjoy!

I also realized the Okoye has a lot more synergies with other champions I'd use, compared to Arnim. Even a synergy with Serpent for some reason.

Zola is an absolute beast but on attack and defense but yea he takes high skill to use him right but once ya do he melts anyone.Okoye is very good also as long as they aren't immune to her debuffs she is worthless on defense tho for sure but one fastest killers in the game when she can stack her debuffs and she does it fast.

That's probably why. 6*s get nuked quickly and are outdated compared to 7*s. Even 7*s can be max sigged nowadays making 6*s pretty much irrelevant (except for a few exceptions)
