Quicksilver : trash or good ?

kvirrkvirr Member Posts: 2,180 ★★★★★
I was debating on who I should take up as a 6* to r3, just for fun, and looking through my roster, i decided on quicksilver, should I have tested him out prior to ranking? Yes, did I ? No .

Can I just say how this guy is actually pretty hot trash? I mean his rotation takes 10 years, and it took 5 whole mins to kill winter soldier, full synergies ( except Wiccan I think )

so If anybody has a r3 7* , or has chosen to rank him up to rank 2, please share your experiences, because I cannot see how this guy was a summoner choice

He’s great. Definitely can be an acquired taste, but the utility is easily accessible and once you have locked down the fight, you can get to some massive damage. To Squid’s point, it’s impressive how often QS comes out for really nasty, complex fights.

A few random bg fights with QS I’ve had this season. Even against smaller healthpools where you can’t set up QS’s max damage bursts, just going for immediate sp2 or sp1 into sp2 still nets reasonable times, and QS’s utility means that he can take a bunch of fights stress-free and with minimal health loss on his end (I’ll admit the Photon fight was a bit lucky and that matchup is usually a bit questionable, but he can handle it on a good day like here).

Insane take. QS has utility out the wazoo and people vastly overstate how “slow” he is; there’s a bit of setup involved but he can melt healthpools of almost any size in reasonable time, faster if you get good at gauging his kill ranges with whiplashes (I’m not good at it but playing it safe still gets kills). 7* r3 with no regrets, he’s been responsible for so many Season of Suffering boss kills over the last year among other things.

They think they have to get to 50 charges in all fights. Lol.

Quicksilver is great. He has so much utility and is super fun to play. His whiplash burst damage is absolutely cracked for short, medium and long fights. Been wanting to dupe my 7* for ages now. He’s 7* R2. I use my 7* and my 6* R5 ascended still.

    This ☝️
My 6 stars I pulled a month after he entered contest haha.

    He's is absolutely amazing, r4 material, if I ever get him as a 7star, it's a wrap

Definitely the key part of optimizing QS’s speed. I genuinely think a lot of people just don’t know that you can manually detonate QS’s whiplashes with a MLM combo. You don’t have to build 50+ whiplashes or build max momentum so that your sp2 doubles your whiplashes, at high enough rank MLM into sp2 for the trauma is enough to kill smaller healthpools with like 30 whiplash debuffs. Going for the optimal rotation of sp2 doubling with 40+ whiplashes into sp1 is way overkill in a typical fight.

Quicksilver is definitely a great champion; but you should think of him as a champion with great utility, and 'okay' damage.

Mine's 5/65 Ascended, and I use him all the time.

The utility he's got in one champion is crazy: he can completely shut down Evade, Unstoppable and Miss; parry projectile attacks, reverse power gain and (with Despair mastery) shut down regeneration; he doesn't proc Dexterity buffs, and his Evade can save you from a mistimed Intercept, or help you to basically ignore Encroaching Stun nodes.

Damage-wise, he's got a decent crit rate, and Trauma for little red numbers. If you just keep your Whiplashes up and burst them with MLM whilst Trauma is active, his damage is definitely okay.

Now, if you really work at your timing, get him in Maximum Momentum, throw the SP2 for Trauma, then MLM and SP1 to get the burst damage, then he's got the potential for a huge amount of burst damage. However, personally, I don't think I've ever bothered using; because it's just too much hassle.

That’s a strange way of saying you don’t understand his kit or how to play him, but okay

L take OP. QS is an acquired taste but he has insane utility and plenty of fans. His damage is nothing to scoff at either. Amazing dual use champ in BGs, and insane for war.
