Don't get the Kingpin glaze

I know this will be controversial, but after getting the free kingpin and taking him to rank 3, I genuinely cannot see why he's so praised. His damage is so incredibly mid against ROL Bucky (unless I'm not using him right), and his utility really just seems capped at a 60% chance to shrug debuffs. Also, it takes so long to activate Overpower, and it expires in a flash. I also can't heavy spam 3 times to get the fury before I get special intercepted. I really think I'm doing something wrong because again, his raw damage completely bombed my expectations. For context, my kingpin is not running any synergies nor relics, and is not awakened.

I'm also highly considering taking him to R4 per advice, but the more I use him, the more I'm favoring someone else like Medusa or DeadpoolX.

I think KP as a six is on a slow but normal decline. Try him against champs who apply a lot of debuffs. RoL is a particularly poor showcase of what he can do.

The nerf of his sp1 really didn’t help either. That reduced AAR function from the degen was way more important than some people realized. But that doesn’t really impact the issue you’ve raised, which is damage. Take him out for a spin against Void, Photon, etc. Depends how far you’ve progressed in the game and what else you’ve got for skill class, but KP can likely still put in some work.

That's unfortunate, I thought he was some skill god for all content. I'm early act 8 right now, and my next upgrade was either him, magneto, deadpool, apocalypse, or titania. I guess I could still use him, but based on your evaluation he probably isn't a top option

I said RoL — dumb, simple fights with no complexity and no debuffs aside from Switch — isn’t a good showcase for him.

For story content, you’ll face a lot more variety in defenders and nodes. KP will probably have plenty of places to shine. If you can sig him up, I’d prefer a six star KP for hard content over Apoc or Titania. And probably DPX, unless you are sorely lacking in nuke champs.

Nick only need one dupe or awakening. The more sigs the better for kingpin. Besides, this day and age, nicks extra life is more like a safety net or a staller as a defender.

KP don't have the high damages like other champs but him shrugging off debuffs simplify many fights. He can heal from from willpower mastery. He can take on hazard shift nodes, encrouching stun node. Since you're in early act 8, he is one of the better option for 8.2.6 Bahamet.

Lowkey how i felt about him, I rember finally getting him as a 6*, whenever I was pushing for valient last year. And then never touching him since I just had way better champs that can either do what he did or just did more damage. In some cases both. And to this day he's still a r1

Top 5 skill with high sig. Yes you don't use him for every fight but he can do 75 % of stuff. I have him r4 sig 80 and love the guy. Regular fights just spam sp2 do the triple heavy for fury when they got no power or do it when you have the sp2 unstoppable for safety. Use sp3 in longer fights. Spam sp1 if you're fighting someone with an annoying defensive ability

He's a champion that I can get why people like him and agree that he's probably really good, I've just never been able to get that out of him. I have the same thing with hulkling honestly. Both great champions just don't click with me

I used KP every day for AQ. He's tanky and clears lanes with ease plus he heals himself during fights.

There's a reason why he's not a 7*. He's legit
