Necro Advice Appreciated

I've finished EoP, so I think it's time for me to start Necro, and I figured I would try to do the 10 year challenge at the same time.
I was able to do a test run against Sauron a few weeks ago to ramp up Sentry, but I didn't keep going and haven't looked at the other fights and am honestly a little brain-fried.
I think just doing one or two fights a day is what's feasible for me at the moment, but I just don't want to start and get roadblocked by a node or champ I didn't plan ahead for.
So if anyone can let me know if I can field a sufficient team from these options and who they should be and who I need to rank up if necessary, that would be greatly appreciated.
Please ignore Wong because I have never played him or know how to use him at all.

Wong and Sentry are both main attackers, you don’t want both. I used unduped R2 Wong and he worked well with minimal revive usage. And since you already have R3 Sentry you might as well use him, he’s reliable from what I’ve seen.

Anything is possible with unit man

Wong is the best option and easy to use
Build his spells with sp1 and refresh them with sp2, usually you can do 2 sp1 between each sp2
If your opponent uses energy attacks start with green spell, otherwise it’s up to you if you want to start with yellow or blue

Definitely cheelith. I should have used her instead of black cat in my run. Ham and photon are both mainly Wiccan counters, so if you have photon at rank 3, you don’t necessarily need to rank 3 ham. But as a side note, I do really love spider-ham, and taking him to rank 3 is never a bad idea.

@TotemCorruption Campo has a good video on using Wong in Necro for the 10 yr challenge. He’s a funny champ, some people think it’s a cakewalk to learn and master him. Others (myself included) had to work pretty hard to get up to speed. I did end up using him for the majority of the 10 yr run and it was very efficient. But I practiced with him quite a bit before jumping in.

If you decide to run it with Wong, take Wiccan if you have one. There’s a synergy that makes it easier to keep Wong ramped.

Friendly did Ares in two revives (I think that was his final run). My final run was still close to thirty (and most runs were over sixty). And while this is Necro and not Epoch, Wong will still be easy. I also tried with Sentry and found him much more complicated and difficult for Necro. But good luck. Cheering for you whoever you use.

Hi, I'm currently in the same room as you. I just came back last month to the game after 2 years of hiatus, explored all of Act 8 and 9.1, finished Epoch of Pain, and now I'm preparing for my first Necropolis. I'm also planning on taking on the 10 year challenge to hit two birds with one stone.

My account is pretty lagging since I don't really have 7*s , so I ranked up my 6* Wong and studied his rotations from watching video guides and walkthroughs made by Campo MC (Easy to understand overall guide), Normax (Highly recommended In-depth guide), and Grass MCoC (This guy is hilarious. I'm a fan now).

I'll be bringing this team:

7*R3 Photon (For Grandmaster)
6*R5 Wong
6*R1 Wiccan (For the spell duration synergy)
6*R5 Ironheart (For the reverse control part)
6*R4 Knull (In case Psycho-Man is giving me a hard time)

The awakening helps, especially if you want an early access to a blessing of choice, but it's definitely not necessary. I heard that if you want to take the Apoc path, being awakened is better because you can go blue immediately. You having an unduped 7* Wong will definitely a lot better because of the Necropolis charges since it's value is based on the challenger rating just like in Abyss. Having Chee'ilth will also make Titania easier for you.

I'm studying how to use Wong for a week now and my 6*R5 can take Titania to 60-50% in one go before the Necropolis charges gets burnt out. I'm gonna ascend him tomorrow when I get my primordial dust then I'm gonna pop 30% boosts once I go full path this Sunday. Already have a ton of revives. Update me if you decide to go, too! It'll be fun to have a companion.

But if you want to be efficient (i.e. make as few runs through Necropolis as possible) then you might want to plan differently.

It sounds to me like you're both thinking of trying to do Necropolis and (eventually) explore Necropolis, and also complete all the associated Carina's challenges - is that right?

In which case, you want to extend your Mutants and Worthy/Gods runs to clear a full path each. It's perfectly possible for both those teams to clear through to GM; and both have reverse-control-immune options (Sinister and Juggernaut).

Eventually, if you make a full run with your #Ten Year Challengers, #Mutants, #Worthy/Gods and also with #Deathless then you've got four paths cleared, and only have two more required for full exploration.

The Mutants have to cover the Sauron path, and the Worthy/Gods have to take the Titania path. So why are you both thinking of doubling up, and doing one of those paths with your #Ten Year Challengers?

I'd suggest you're both better off taking your Challengers down the Mr Fantastic path.

Then for the second half of the run, take a look at the Mutants, #Worthy/Gods and #Ten Year Challengers in your roster and ask yourself "which path do these guys cover best?

Sure! I'll add you! Goodluck on your first try, too! Farm Revives on the Miles Morales variant for safety. I heard Sentry is good but Wong is definitely the MVP for this as I've seen from other's runs. We got this!

I needed this advice. I'm taking the Titania Path simply because it's the easiest path and since I just came back from a 2 year hiatus, I really don't have a lot of 7*s and most of my rankups are lagging a lot, so doing the rest of the paths will take me some time to prepare. But if another path is viable, I can save the Titania Path for #Mutant. I actually explored Abyss along with Carina's Challenges vol. 2 so your advice lit me up!

What's the ideal path for #TenYearChallengers if I'm planning to explore it in the future?

So, Titania path = clear with the #Worthy/Gods team
Sauron path = clear with a Mutants team

With your #TenYearChallengers, you can choose whichever path you like. But the Mr Fantastic path is pretty straightforward.

Air-Walker is tricky; basically you have to constantly knock him down, and block (don't dodge) his SP1. You can use Wong, like you can for many options. Photon can be a decent option, as she mitigates his Power Gain pretty effectively. Wiccan is immune to Armour Break, which can prevent him taking Dark Tide damage.

There's a really good primer on how to use Wong, and you can find videos specifically about using Wong in the Necropolis, on YouTube.

He's worth practicing - really useful for clearing multiple path fights in the Necropolis, although not great against GM himself.
