Vega is still a player and his own person - he can start/stop boycotting for whatever reasons he wants. BUT that doesn't mean you need to follow him, either. I will personally continue to cease spending.
Thanks Slayer for being a real one. GGs. Vega loves his clickbait money more than the community. People can see it for themselves.
I'm #teamcommunity I'm also #teamKabam. As in the end, they are the ones responsible for #teamcommunity.

I've only watched a couple of Vega's videos (just not my preference) but "clickbait money" is a little misleading. Someone with around 25k subscribers getting about 100k views a month is only generating like beer money or phone bill income.
And to run that modest channel, consider what he has to do: (1) record and edit multiple videos a week; (2) stay on top of all MCOC updates and issues and champ and content releases; (3) engage with the community constantly; and (4) spend time and money on in-game progress to stay relevant.
All of that for a couple hundred bucks a month? So people can have negative opinions of him, but let's not act like he's exploiting anyone for money. Nothing he gains from his channel justifies the time and overhead on a purely financial basis.

Don't care what he do, why he do it. I'll call a clickbait, a clickbait. Internet is full of negetive people, my comment will do nothing to him. Thanks but no thanks, I am choosing to stay negetive.

The fact youre defending him using the frustrations of the people with the BGs situation for clickbait views and then flopping to serenade Kabam right after their response ( for again clickbait views) is crazy to me lol.

Yeah, I'm not saying Vega's videos aren't clickbait. I'm just saying that his videos don't generate any meaningful financial gain, so let’s not overstate what he's getting out of this. So why does he do this? Because youtube (and social media in general) rewards clickbait and punishes everything else. So content creators get brainwashed into playing a game designed to benefit youtube and their sponsors, often without realizing how little it pays off for them.
He's saying he's made history, with the only successful boycott in the history of the game.
Kinda confused because in his recent video he said his reasons for boycotting were extremely specific and he was in effect a 1 man boycott, but now it sounds like he's tapping into the wider boycott as though it was his boycott.
He was very clearly distancing himself from it and that it was just him doing it until he was "having fun" again.
It's difficult to keep track with it.. very confused, conflicting and chaotic.
There's always been something off about Vega... never been quite able to put my finger on it. I'll keep it at that since I don't have anything nice to say (other than I like his beard).
I stopped following, a weekend boycott.. lol It got traction, but yeah.,.nah the changes made was hardly a change other than a "compensation"... We are still on the "intentions and words" stage.

What a knob. Was already on the fence but definitely not watching him anymore

I think you misunderstood the video. Vega pretty clearly laid out the reasons that HE was boycotting and what he wanted to see from Kabam to end HIS boycott.
I didn't see or hear anything in there in reference to a larger boycott. He says, and shows what he wanted for HIM to be satisfied, and then showed where Kabam did those things.
He says pretty clearly that each player should decide for themselves whether they should spend or not.

But he's using the word "boycott", which requires collective behaviour.
Read his pinned comments that clarify what his "boycott" was all about - you'll find that he wasn't even boycotting, he was "protesting".
If he said he's ending HIS protest then I'd have no issues - it's the fact that the wording, the thumbnails, the message feels very misleading. Not a fan of gaslight types vibes and insulting our intelligence.

Lol you guys are funny nit picking the definition of a boycott, meanwhile the guy boycott or whatever you wanna call it, lasted less than a common cold 🤣 The 2 guys arguing about the meaning of a boycott are most likely going to argue longer than the boycott itself...
The funny thing is that he keeps saying that he cares for the good of the community, when "boycotting" (or boycotting, if it needs at least 2 people to be a movement, he got Trappy with him) for his rewards.
Like I said in another thread it’s easy to boycott when there nothing to buy. I’m not surprised people stop boycotting, others will soon follow with there credit card out chasing NF and what ever other champs are in that crystal.
Appreciate the interaction @KabamPinwheel —your willingness to engage is always impressive.
Certainly, I hope the issues raised by content creators get addressed…but I also hope other issues don’t get deprioritized simply because of their spotlighting BGs and Raids.
I doubt I’m the only one who still sees input issues and frame stutter/lag on a regular basis (and before anyone comments, no, I’m not playing on a circa 2002 Nokia). There’s a lot going on, many of us still greatly enjoy the game and have stuck with it. We’d just like to see game play problems get the attention they deserve as well as mode-specific issues.
Dr. Zola
This is where I am too. I definitely think the type of response the Nightmare Raids debacle deserved, but we’ve seen an act like this before on a single mode, only to then blame the players the next time around… or ghost on things like the medium intercept issue… letting it cost us resources and frustration with no action or meaningful acknowledgement for months.
This type of response needs to become the new normal or it’s just a single act that doesn’t demonstrate change. Vega’s first two videos on the topic clearly point to this being the straw that broke the camel’s back… and that was spot on. Mishandling of Raids and BGs are the tip of the iceberg that led to this.
Which is why the about face… really just caused me to unfollow that channel. All evidence points to him being a decent dude, and if this single action and the flowery words make him feel good… well it’s a personal choice. I just don’t care for that type of waffling in how I consume information or entertainment… so I’m gonna be done there.
As for me, I need more, more in the form of action and execution outside of a damn same. The Bastion Store error happening around this time really only has entrenched me into no longer spending for the foreseeable future.
Yeah, Vega has done this before, which really has rubbed me the wrong way in the past. Don't know why I thought this time was different for some reason
LOL i was like yea..hes done this before and i garantee you he will spend on july 4th witch he did, and this time around? LOL you thought he changed?
i GARANTEE you he will whale out on 7* nick fury and rest of the heart of fire champions rofl.
He got what he wanted, bg upgrade and now hes gona spend more to work on his account.

That's why it can't just be him boycotting alone:
He's actually telling you to make your own decision, just as he made his.
1) BOYCOTT!
2) I was just "boycotting" by myself, what do you mean you expect me to keep going with this movement?
We're made to think a certain way - then we're lambasted for feeling that way like we're crazy, or didn't understand.
The 2 guys arguing about the meaning of a boycott are most likely going to argue longer than the boycott itself...
