AW scoring system question.

We have two wars this season where we won with 100% exploration and dropped on the rankings. Is the from deaths? Like if we take 40 deaths and win but another say 20 teams take 20 deaths and win they pass us? I assume that’s the case but was just wondering. We were getting +50 but now are only getting +32 which I assume is the same for everyone.

Or it could just bet that it hasn’t fully updated yet. But I was just looking for some clarity on it since some of my players asked. Thanks.

Deaths factor into Attack Bonus, which is a points scoring category. Not just whether you explore 100% or not.
(Deaths, within the first 3 fights of a node)

And it is Points, that determine season rankings.

Also Diversity, but I assume that is staying constant from war to war, unless you change membership or someone changes their defenders.

Another thing is that if you look at your Ranking when your match is first over (when your war has been factored into the standing YOU can see, but which other alliance's wars have NOT yet). And then check back later, and see you have since dropped. That is the reason why.
(*have to compare “during” the war, from war to war, to see relative ranking changes)

Lastly, what is the +50 +32 you are referring to ? War Rating change ?
It's based on relative WR (or maybe strength) difference each war between you and your opponent. But normally pretty consistent for each war (at least, in season vs off season).
WR does not depend on how many points you win or lose your war by.

We lost placement 3 wars in a row with victories. It's because they reduced the bonus points for a win from 30k to 5k, so a loss at a higher tier is worth more than a win at a lower one. It's a bit frustrating. I understand why they think the point change was a good idea, it just wasn't a good idea.

I assume you mean the season rankings, like Gold, Platinum, Masters, etc. Season rankings are based on points. You move up or down based not just on your own performance but everyone else's as well. Even if you win your war, if an alliance below you also wins and also scores more points overall they can overtake you. Simple as that.

Rarely does an alliance drop in rankings after they win, but it does happen occasionally. If coincidentally everyone above them and close to them in points wins, and also an alliance just below them also wins and outscores them, they can drop a rank even though they won.

Ratings are about wins and losses. Season ranks are about scoring points. In fact, just to emphasize this difference, an alliance that *loses* can theoretically overtake an alliance that *wins*. How? If the first alliance is a 3BG alliance and the second is a 32BG alliance, the first alliance could score more points in a loss than the second alliance gains with a win, simply because they have one more BG to score points in.

Also, if you got a different rating bonus for winning than normal, you might check the rating of your opponent. It is possible that due to the complexities of match making you got matched against a weaker opponent. If there is a significant rating's disparity the higher rated alliance will get a lower rating bonus for winning than if they had fought a more equally rated opponent. So that might have also affected your scoring in that war, and caused you to fall slightly behind similarly ranked alliances.

That’s understandable. It’s kinda crazy to be in a 3bg alliance, get 100% exploration, 100% diversity, die a reasonable amount of times for our rank and still drop 7 spots. It’s definitely possible that just a ton of teams around us had a great week. All we can do is control what we can control. Must have just been a good week for the teams around us. Thanks!
