boring and stale AQ is horrendous but do you know what's worse? "fun and interactive" AQ. meta defenders, a bunch of difficult nodes, oppressive globals that cripple your damage or give them tons of power, links everywhere....think launch week of map 7.

They killed AQ after they stopped having rotating maps. AQ hasn't been fun in so many years. It's quite possibly the worst piece of content that exists in the game.

It’s not fun, it’s a tool to make us login and play. They gave up on fun for this mode years ago.

I remember when Map 7 released with Apoc (brand new defender) as the boss. Getting him down was a Herculean accomplishment. The best tactic was G2099 and playing in a way that stopped him from ever throwing a special attack. That’s when I learned how to play in a way that discouraged defenders from using their specials, and it was great.

Now I sleepwalk through AQ. No challenge, no strategy, just pick the same champs every day to do the same fights to get the same rewards. Honestly, if AQ didn’t give Raid Tickets, it would be very skippable. The Glory store is useful, but not incredible. A big chunk of my glory just goes towards purchasing Raid Tickets anyway. We have a whole mode that’s just “repeat these same fights sixteenish times this month so that you can access the actually usually fun mode once.”

That just sounds like a badly formatted SQ to me, but one that can be thrown out of whack by an alliance mate going on vacation.

Crashed will share their plans for AQ when he’s good and ready. But I believe they stated removing the rotations will allow for more regular updates.
