Embarrassing Company

BrodieHarrisBrodieHarris Member Posts: 12
At some point Kabam has to be embarrassed for being infamous for a bugged game, disappointment, and livestream mishaps. It's like clockwork that when they release anything or promise drops something will inevitably go wrong and they wonder why they lost the trust of the community. I try to give them the benefit of doubt but it has become an expectation that something will be bugged and a letdown.

If they just sent it out in the mail, they'd literally lose no respect at all.. but they are so stubborn, it's like "we made the mistake, no one can get what we promised, but screw em, no one's gonna get anything now, CBA to make it right, can't risk someone who didn't watch the stream getting the slither of items"
    That's how it FEELS....

I'm not sure that particular doubt has any benefit.

I was more focused on Kabam being infamous. They are really only infamous among people for whom this is the only video game they've ever played. Or any company they've ever interacted with directly I suppose.

I kid you not at this moment I am for-realsies working on a contingency plan for what happens when one of our clients' Horizon 8 license rolls over to a new subscription period. When Omnissa took over VMware one of the things they did was move all the product licensing to this new cloud based system (arguably Broadcom was already doing this when Omnissa took over). And get this, when you renew a subscription license none of your products or your license portal tells you that you've done so. Instead you just get a countdown to the expiration of your license, and when it actually expires and the product would switch to a degraded mode of operation if you actually did renew your license the expiration dates will then update to the new period. So you cannot tell if your license was correctly updated and will not expire taking down your product until the literal millisecond your previous license actually expires.

This is a company seven times larger than all of Netmarble combined, managing a product that forms the backbone of half the enterprise consolidated systems in the western world. And there is no way to tell if your stuff is going to continue to work or will roll over and die because a sales person typed the wrong thing in the wrong blank you can't see.

And this is not even the stupidest thing I have had to work on this week.

We could ask OP to share his benefit of the doubt with them...

Such a Brodie thing to say. Almost as bad as a Chad.
