This negasonic aq map 6 mini is insane

Can't use special or you get stung, need to intercept her but then she evades and stuns you. Can't hold specials because you get whiplashed. Can't intercept her because she's super defensive and also MEDIUM INTERCEPTS ARE BROKEN. Day 1 and we all losing champs. Tone this fight down or replace her with a normal fight. This is insane for aq. We play this mode casually to get some glory and it's the most stressful alliance mode. Such a stupid fight.

I agree, this fight is tougher than it needs to be. There are a few good counters (Ironheart, FAM, Prowler, etc...) but the nodes are pretty tricky, much more so than the last version of the map.

The thing I find most annoying is that there is no variation of the map from week to week. Just the exact same fights every time. At least there was some variety with the last map sets. Sometimes mini boss was Jabari, next week it was Sinister, then Sandman. I liked the switch up. It gave me a chance to use different champs. Now it's just boring.

One evade/stun and L2 from Nega and my champ was cooked. I’m going to do my best to get better but damn that was unforgiving

I haven’t had to fight her myself but she doesn’t seem that bad? Bait a heavy and punish with your own heavy to disable her evade on fight start (don’t have to do this if you’re using a tech champion), then just intercept once when you get above a bar of power to transfer the sting and then combo into a special. Repeat if necessary. I can’t imagine it being worse than the previous Sinister boss at least (barring the obvious robot counters like Nimrod anyways).

Sounds easy on paper, but not as practical as you make it sound. You still have to contend with the AI that never does what you want, when you want.

You don’t even know the weird ish going on with that Fight currently and the glitches and brokenness of certain hits.But speaking on AND comparing a fight you didn’t do before to sinister lmao sinister with no counter and screwing around is peanuts compared to her.

I’m inside the club. Took out NTW in about thirty seconds with Okoye today. This fight isn’t as tough as you fellas make it sound. And in case you don’t know, Squid’s suggestions are right on the money.

Ok, it’s not like I haven’t fought NTW before. I just haven’t fought this specific boss encounter because my alliance mates usually get there first. Haven’t seen any complaints or issues from them despite the fact that my alliance isn’t exactly full of sweats. I don’t consider NTW a hard fight and the nodes don’t look like they change the gameplan much, in the several times I’ve faced her in war I’ve never bothered bringing an evade counter and I haven’t had issues.

Just use a tech champ? Her evade starts cooldown for 25 seconds. Enough time to throw another special even with power stings

She only evades if you hit her while charging her heavy. You can punish her heavy completely fine.

Yeah I do it all the time when I face her in war. It’s a very convenient way to put her evade on cooldown since her heavy has a long animation and is pretty easy to punish with your own heavy.

I myself just herc it.but I agree with the OP. As a map 6 fight for just some glory, it’s all sorts of unnecessarily complicated fight. No one wants to deal with this 4 days a week every single week.

Still don’t see the fuss. I accidentally ate a power sting but it wasn’t very bad either way.

(And yes I use 5*s in AQ dw about it).

Did that fight with Ironheart - once you get the rhythm down it’s an annoying fight but definitely not impossible.

Full disclosure - I’m in same alliance as Squid and I am absolutely not even a tenth of the player they are.

Didn't say it's impossible. It's just unnecessarily difficult for map 6 aq 8 times a week (4 days x 2 mini bosses)

Bring Angela, Guardian, or Photon to Parry her non-contact attacks, then heavy her. She is designed with sting and whiplash happened at the same time, that is an intensional and malicious design, Sacrifying health with sting will be better to play with her.

Strategy to clear map6: Bring 1 champ can be easily recovered HP and clear all nodes, excepting to Boss and Mini Bosses. 1->2 champs that can non-contact parry to fight against mini bosses.

Every time AQ gets updated, there always seems to be one boss that seems out of the ordinary in terms of difficulty, and Negasonic seems to be that boss this time around. The Map 5 Emma was one of those as well, and it just seems like when you design tricky stuff in AQ, there's bound to be a prize winner for the one more than an average number of players complain about.

I do think that one is probably the runaway favorite for hardest mini at Map 6 or lower, but it only took me a couple days to get used to her. Prowler, as some suggested, does make the fight easier, but I've been able to take her with whatever I happen to bring. I accidentally tripped my Prowler over his own feet and had to take on NS with Overseer, and it was possible so long as you remembered to not eat the power sting and intercept a lot. I think I took her with Kingpin once or twice, class disadvantage and everything.

Harder than the other Map 6 minis? By a significant margin. Too hard for Map 6? Eh, I'm not sure. I think people will learn to deal with her, and having some learning curve in AQ is not the end of the world.

Why do you drag AQ even longer than it needs to be? I throw my 7r4 in there to be done as soon as possible.

I used to use 5*s in AQ because I didn’t want to lock out my champs from usage in other content. Nowadays my roster is big enough that that’s not a real concern, so I guess I just do it to feel something at this point.

Is it a good feeling? Not really, but I guess it beats monotony, I think. Honestly I find brainless mashing with overpowered stats more boring than having to actually think and play carefully, even if the difficulty is uninteresting. I very much accept that I’m in the minority on that one though, this isn’t a recommendation in any sense.

It’s also an okay excuse to test out some new champs in lower rarities I happen to pull, like Zola in my attached screenshots.

To be honest, I didn't read the nodes in the first week and on the first two days I finished the fight just fine, then on day three I just kept exploding to death and didn't realize why until I read the nodes carefully.

I just used peni with her synergy that allows her to parry non-contacts and it was a pretty straight-forward fight. Anyone who parries non-contact can do that fight with relative ease from my experience

its pretty annoying fight especially with the current trend for the AI not to throw specials.

nothing worse than trying to decide to eat the powersting damage or the whiplash expiring damage because she won't throw her special.
