They're essentially the same. Heimdall just came out before immortality was a thing. They both say "knocked out" which means you can't "die". It's been common for us to say immortality as well for Heimdall's synergy.

With Heimdall you get a unstoppable passive. Again, you're arguing the "immortality" part. Getting knocked out in a fight ends the fight. Both of these synergies prevent that. Whether they're called the same or not, truly doesn't matter because they both do the same thing.

This old Thor Ragnarok/Hulk synergy also grants a five-second Indestructible, which is functionality the same as immortality.

And as mentioned, Thing gets an Indestructible ability from The Champion that prevents him being KO'd

Immortality does not give unblockable by itself. It is a side effect of everyone else who has immortality as part of their kit. All immortality does is prevent your champion from being knocked out while it is active. It doesn't pause, so you have 6 seconds of not being able to die, once per quest, unless the defender has a way of dealing with buffs.
