Deathless AW showcase? Finally a good one?

Now I am a D1 AW showcase hater, but this time was a little different. I finally got an excuse to use some of my favourite champions, and a new addition to the roster so I thought I’d give it a go.

I started with the

Right path

Team:

- deathless Thanos
- Serpent
- Silk
- Purgatory

Oh my god it was so easy. I was breezing through fights thinking “hold on this can’t be it right?” Genuinely fun and simple fights, serpent and deathless Thanos were the MVPs for the path fights, with Silk being a goat for Spiral and Ebony Maw. Only fight to cause me slight issues was Spiral but that’s cause I had never read her kit before nor had any reason to.

Serpent was a bit more… tricky. I mean it only took me 1 revive with purgatory (which were expiring in the stash anyways) but it was definitely a tougher fight than the sub 60 second takedowns on the rest of the path.

The boss was kinda fine as well. Stun immunity when you need the knockdown to slow him kinda stings, and caught me out a couple times, i foolishly swapped in Deathless She Hulk thinking she would get the Grit synergy with Deathless Thanos (I was wrong i think that’s me to only) but whatever, all in all 3 revives for the whole thing is a W.

Left path

A little harder, this time I swapped out deathless Thanos for Sentinel (don’t worry he will return for the boss). Sentinel shredded the mutants although I will admit I needed some heal potions (and one revive but we won’t talk about that failed dex). Yes yes I should’be used my L3 but time is money and I didn’t want my potions to expire anyways. Serpent cost me nothing this time I got the hang of it (and a little lucky) with purgatory.

Deathless Thanos came back in to take his spot against the boss, this time I didn’t have to use any revives (but all 4 champs 🫣🫣)

Quite enjoyed it, not too punishing and the champion options were quite good. I think this is mainly because it was a return of an old tactic, and in the time since the first AW showcase and now (both using the same tactics) we’ve got our hands on some much better offensive options.

Side note i did the tech defenders quest cause I was bored. Last time it was kinda tough and I gave up but this time Deathless Thanos and Serpent basically sorted the whole thing out alone. If you don’t have a deathless Thanos this might be a tough one, both the tech quest and the main AW showcase, but serpent basically covers the same bases.

Oh and the quest got me to hit lvl 61 and gave me a scream from the titan so I’m #gratefull

Overall a step in the right direction for these kabam well done this time let’s hope this continues throughout the rest of the year

Maratox

It’s a great step in the right direction. It’s a bit skewed because decay is probably the most broken attacker tactic Kabam have ever introduced, hence why certain fights are just a cake walk. These fights rewarded careful planning and attentive gameplay though, which is always what I look for in good content. Big W where it’s due.

I also think the tech and mystic paths were a huge improvement over what they did last time. Pretty much the biggest win in terms of revised content from Kabam in a long time.
