Sure, it's not the fastest Necropolis solo, but it's also pretty darn fast - let alone the fact that Lumatrix turns Titania into a complete joke. Doesn't get touched a single time the entire fight - this Eidol is crazy good.

Basically you have to punish opponent special, to remove invisibility cooldown, then charge heavy to get evade charge, evade to get invisibility, which pauses if you hit the opponent and is removed when opponent throws a special. Thanks for this video, you clearly summarized him, I never understood him.

As i'm not going to spend on weekly offer or grind arena or BGs for the 7* should I buy the 6* from shop and ascend or should I keep saving my light essence for future in case there are other ways to aquire it?

For the record, getting him at all is going to cost most players money because for some reason Kabam decided the only FTP path to get 7* Lumatrix is to place like top 10 in BGs (technically there’s light essence as long as you place top 100 but even then I don’t think it’s enough) or maybe if you place first in arenas several times.

I’m planning to take up my Luma to rank 4 after 9.2 so it’s great seeing other people loving the champ. Such a fun skill champ, obviously so powerful, and it feels great seeing “no damage taken” after coming out of nearly every fight

What makes him so powerful compared to other champs? Is it just the playstyle, similar to Ghost, where you can phase in and out instead of relying on parries and intercepts?

A few things:

1) Playstyle, to your point - you create your own openings without any contact, so you can play around things like stun immune (since you still go invisible), unblockable, high block penetration scenarios, or even unstoppable shenanigans like this Titania, etc. - and he can also counter evade a bit with the Rintrah synergy

2) Damage - he doesn’t impress with big yellow or red numbers but he is exceptionally consistent (160k every 5 hit combo is wild) and when you add it up, even though he’s not flashy he ends up taking any health pool quickly (probably top 10 percentile across the board in short, medium, and long fights)

3) Zero reliance on buffs or debuffs - sometimes a bad thing (like Diss Track) but usually a good thing

4) Low key, he’s a phenomenal Enchantress counter because he has an exact counter to each part of the kit (tracking to bypass miss, aggressive AI to bait dash/heavy, and “cheat” intercepts if you counter a dash into your miss)

5) No reliance on synergies… the Isophyne one sounds important and helps, but reality is you can keep up 2 furies without it (and by just cycling SP2)

There’s probably more I’m forgetting, but this is enough for me.

Another underrated piece of their kit is the endurance, something that seems like it will be important as they introduce more and more severe buffs, and something that I think will catch people on defence since it’ll reduce stun durations on parries

And you can't really punish his heavies because of the evade charge, so max limber + endurance + unpunishable heavies might make him somewhat annoying as a defender?

Yeah the sig makes no sense to me - also doesn’t seem to scale particularly valuably… this hurts me mostly because I want my R4s to be max sig but I can’t justify putting any stones in right now. Maybe the meta will change / new champs will change my tone there…

In DLL's context video on Lumatrix he explained that it does not apply to power stings because they're not classified as instant burst damage (DLL thinks they should be but that's the classification currently).

I think it's the first rule of a non damaging debuff expiring naturally for power stings. Check out the deep dive at about 4:40 against Spider Ham.

He has a miss counter as well, can outplay non-contact attacks (e.g. Zola, Dust) with his evade, counters stun immune and unblockable fights with his evade, his endurance is useful, especially with severe buffs getting used more often for new champs and he’s just really, and I mean REALLY safe to play. Def the skill champ the class needed and more importantly, he’s just really fun.

Yeah, I’d actually argue Lumatrix is made much more for 2025 than past years - for example with the ability to counter miss, trigger free intercepts (by countering a dash into your miss), manage unblockable by effectively being untouchable the whole fight. Less focused on things like evade (but synergy helps here) or unstoppable (but can counter by just hitting into unstoppable opponent while invisibility and stalling it out). Stun immune while invisible is nice icing on the cake to blitz a Medusa or Spiral or other threatening node. These are 2025 challenges and Lumatrix is well designed for those. I’ve been just ignoring reading the nodes and bringing them to 9.2 and not running into any issues… that’s when you know someone is solid.

The added fact they can counter a lot of meta defenders (most notably Enchantress in 45 seconds)… much more than just damage.
