R3 Relics

Why is getting r3 relics so hard the only way to get them other than the gem in act 8 is to spend 180k trophy tokens which is crazy because you only need 120k for enough t4a for a r3 7*

    For me personally a relic is nothing more than a combo extender, I don't rank them up or invest time or energy into them.

    I do understand that there are combos and niche nuance usage for certain relics on certain champs, but I'm happy to leave the 2% improvement on the table, I wouldn't even notice it.

    The following is just my opinion....

    Relics are dead, and Kabam is milking every drop they can by not officially communicating that.

    Fact the first - We haven't had a new relic since July 2023, then the formal pause was announced in August 2023.

    Fact the second - Kabam continues to release content that creates a dependency on relics to keep the relevant.

    Fact the third - In the time since the pause, Kabam has had a reduction in force, putting more work on fewer employees.

    Fact the fourth - Kabam (like all publicly traded companies) wants to make more money year over years.

    Fact the fifth - Kabam only recently released the materials necessary to R3 a 6* relic, however applied a ridiculous in-game currency to acquire them. They have kept them even further out of reach by preventing the sale of T3 alloys in exchange for T4 fragments.

    So what have they achieved through the combination of the above facts?

    They've made the sale of R3 gems significantly more appealing by making it virtually impossible to acquire one without real money.

    I care about relics.
    It's pretty hard to re-level all relics again on my alt. 40% of my glory goes into stuff for relics.
    Relic economy haven't changed much. Rip new players.

    I care even if they are just a combo extender. I still haven't pulled a 6* cosmic relic. I need some class relic crystals in my life!

    Kabam dropped the ball with relics and they basically killed the progress but Kabam Crashed did mention there would be new relics soon, I’ll try find where he said that

    They should get rid of embers and make relic upgrades exclusively based on rank up

    I don’t myself.
    I use relics when they have been required for story content and when required for an incursions run,,,after that i remove them.
    Still have an R2 and R3 relic rank up gem sitting in my inventory for well over a year now.

    For all the relic specialists. Which relic is absolutely the best to use R2 and R3 rankuo gem on ? I know it is very rare resource so I have saving it for ages.

    Ones that have a big benefit for specific attackers. Gamora, ant man, Hulkbuster, sentinel, black widow etc. Like I wouldn’t rank up sinister relic to r3 because it doesn’t really benefit from the extra rank all that much for example

    I would say it's less about the relic, and more about the champ you have available to bind them to.

    If you have Falcon, Black Cat, or Crossbones, then I would say the Black Widow relic is best.

    Venom for Venom.

    Ant-Man for Spiderham.

    Thor for Angela, Odin, or BRB.

    Gamora for Hyperion.

    Sentinel for Bastion or Sentinel.
